My problem is/was that some characters just straight up omit these skills details (turns out they don't omit, they just put it in the least intuitive menu possible away from all the other skills in the case of leap characters) and also that the game does very little to make clear what the fuck these damage types count as. Why doesn't the effect menu say in very bold letters for each effect what damage type that is and what damage types affect it? You know, I was thinking; this game's leap system is actually so much more fertile than what it's currently being used for. Opening the door for whole new axis ofprogression for a character means they have a tool to fix an almost universal issue with gachas, which is theninevitable fate of old units becoming less and less relevant and just outdated. If they wanted they could use something like a leap skill for any and all older characters they think merit it, not just to give them an extra effect or whatever, but they could essentially re-release the character by making this upgrade sit behind the gacha system, like pulling for copies. This way we could have the best of all worlds. We could keep using and investing in our favorite characters and get actual good updates that update notnjust their power but oberhaul their whole gameplay/kit and Kuro still makes money from it because you'd have to pull as if it were a new character.

I could imagine something like the evolutions are also upgraded, but the upgrades for the evolutions would have to be unlocked individually apart from the main baseline leap, meaning that players that already had the character SSS and pulled for the upgrade once, they only get the baseline upgrade and keep all the old evolutions, which is still considerably stronger than a new player pulling on the character for the first time, butnthey would still need the standard evolution grind if they want to get thebupgraded evolutions to match. Or something like that. I'm sure there are way more elegant ways to go about it, I'm just spitballing. The main point I really care to fix is the issue with inevitable powercreep and old units becoming obsolete.

While all characters are in all banners and you only need 1 copy of a character the pity system works only on whatever is on rate up with no carry over. So you have to splooge your resources or abstain. And the randomly expanded older characters appear on rate up only on half SSR chance banners so not a good idea for those who don't pay since in that game you want SSR quantity and to focus mainly on the seasonal units.
