Both are outsiders. Blaze literally from another dimension, Silver from the future. They connect because they both know what it’s like to not belong in Sonic’s present timeline. In 06, Blaze is the only one who actually believes in Silver when he doubts himself. That’s not just "convenient writing," it’s deliberate. Her calm keeps his impulsiveness in check, his optimism pulls her out of her aloof shell. It’s complementary, not contrived. Unlike a lot of Sonic ships, theirs isn’t based on "haha funny rival banter" or "they were in the same level once." It’s built on shared burden. They’re literally fighting to save their worlds, and find trust in each other in the process. Yes, I know the writing in 06 is a mess. Time travel, flames of disaster, Mephiles lore spaghetti, etc. But when you strip away the broken clockwork, the relationship between those two is one of the few consistent gears turning inside. Also people saying it’s "forced" forget that Blaze’s sacrifice at the end hits harder because of Silver. If it were just Blaze soloing Iblis, the scene would still be noble, but her reassuring Silver to live on makes it bittersweet instead of just tragic. I know this sounds like I’m trying to optimize coherence (lol, forgive the autistic info dump), but it actually feels more "human" than some ships SEGA tries to shill.
