It directly contributed to the thing anon was complaining about earlier, where warrior dps was bad until ICC where you hard capped ArP, made even worse for warriors because the class is inherently nonlinear in its scaling.They are essentially trying to give ArP its own diminishing return to remove the exponential gain component of it, bending over backwards to make an inherently exponential stat be not exponential. It's particularly stupid because strength already exists as a linearly scaling physical dps stat, and ArP in its function is identical to strength aside from a difference in magnitude, i.e. it isn't its own mechanic like crit or haste.There's an even stupider layer to ArP that they didn't address in that post however, and it's the ArP soft cap, an extremely contrived and stupid alteration to the armor pen formula that they added to counteract the way that armor pen made the various armor classes irrelevant in pvp, if you have 100% ArP there is no difference between cloth and plate. So their response was to add this cap, that any amount of armor over ~10k would not be fully reduced by the % specified on your character sheet. In effect making the ARMOR PENETRATING stat work the best against low armor cloth wearers and the worst against heavy armor users.JUST FUCKING REMOVE ARMOR PENETRATION FFS
