The story progresses too fast because it has to be done inside a single event even though it should have had a whole arc just like Orpheus and Magus had.tl;dr It's a short story about a broken person learning to trust others after her father passed away. Incidentally that's probably why the audience didn't like her much, they want pixie girls who are half mother half girlfriend. Obol was basically Katawa Shoujo horror stories about maimed/scarred people who still fight and cling to life but have found a new family. You'd be hard pressed to get a Seed wipeout screen that's not purposefully designed for you to admire the bend of her back, or her ass, or her feet, in a fetishistic way.Players doing a double-take between her state at the end of story and the actual gameplay presentation aren't wrong to notice that there's a significant gap there. The "satisfying" mechanically arc would've led her character to the point of "oh, she's basically okay now but with a quirky personality" which probably wouldn't be good writing dramatically, but the other option is a whiplash of an overtly sexual character that also canonically deeply damaged person with a mental capacity of a child, but the game still thinks you should be totally down to jork it to her.
