The way the Cursed Cycle works is that some variable amount of time after each ending, everyone's consciousnesses are pulled back to the moment Takumi arrived from the future to start over again.Every ending is canon, what varies is how long it takes to reset (I have my own theories on that), and what exactly the "order" of timelines is, which is mostly irrelevant outside of G'ie infection, which makes it relevant. Everything is canon, technically.Ending #55 is, for now at least, implied to be the final end where they break the cycle, though it's hardly confirmed. It was all based on Eito's random theory and could easily be false.

just finished S.F and unsure how I feel about it. in the first half I thought that it was a really cool route and by incorporating several routes that it would lead to a satisfying payoff. in the end things didn't really develop as I hoped, all the timeleaping just kind of turned out to be some way of killing time instead of everything coming together for one big breakthrough. In the end the route progressed relatively without a "real" problem (problems like "oh no, kako-g is wrecking havoc in the killing game route. we have to stop her although everything resets anyways and although there's probably hundreds of thousands routes where tragedies happen and although we're not even eliminating the route but only making a new one"), then suddenly the particle bacteria has somehow survived inside of the ventilation shafts and now broke the emergency pod although we tried to prevent that. what a lame development that is and in the end we all escape through an emergency pod in another timeline, which is honestly kind of cool. nonetheless it really doesn't feel like a "true" ending. it doesn't feel like an ending that justifies that hiruko was stuck in this loop for 40 years, for that it was too "easy" to get and it didn't use the other routes in such a way that the S.F route feels like an "accumulation" of them. The way the rest of the team acted was also kind of iffy. I get it, the route becomes too full if you add the usual character conflicts into the route with takumi having to make sure that everyone gets along while also doing all the timeleaping stuff, but when eito just agreed to have his brain "repaired" and also getting mindwashed just like that, then that was seriously offputting for me. In that world, I don't think CoT would be a thing, and I don't think fujos would have been interested in his project whatsoever.He rolled the dice, tried something ambitious, and it worked out. I hope for whatever DLC or next project (actual new project by him and not supervised or contractually hired as a writer for another game) he does can flesh out these ideas even more. I wouldn't mind his next project be of smaller scale but with the knowledge and experience he has now.
