BUT, since it's an alternate canon entirely, I can accept these differences (even if I do prefer the original). I think the interpretation of Maria as a bit of a brat who gets into trouble is a cute one, and I like that striped shirt she wears in some scenes. So I'd say I'm happy with Movie Maria, even if she isn't the same as the more subdued Maria Maekawa envisioned.
