The devs seemed to heavily ship him with Carmilla early on, which is partially why he's less "for you" coded. Yamanami was also shipped with that prostitute(?) that convinced him to run away from the shinsengumi in his original event, it seems like he already had a girl he's interested in. Shinpachi from what I recall they're playing him like he's ashamed of seeing too much skin from a woman, and heavily embarrassed. I can't recall if he had any heavy implications one way or another yet. Everything I'm basing it on is whether they had a line heavily confirming one direction or the other already.Nobu is always a bit ambiguous, she might go for you but her thoughts aren't the type you can ever really tie down properly. Of course any waifu is also yuricoded due to gudako, but not so much the other way around, I wouldn't call the "for you" males yaoi coded. Ultimately what's heavily carrying the otome side of the argument is Saito, Izou, and Takasugi. It feels more fujo coded than otome coded; there are males for you but it seems more for people that appreciate pretty boys interacting with each other.

I can point to at least four or five moments offhand where Kenshin has for you moments, you see her as a shipping character but she has much more in the for you camp.
