>>541065378i must confess that i haven't actually built a speedroid deck in genesys yet, but in my purely theoretical understanding of genesys speedroid, it feels like there are two main ways to build speedroid in genesys. you either spend 85 points on baronne, or you don't. baronne plus a playset of tops is 94 points, barely any left for handtraps outside of the free ones. i think upstart might actually be decent in this case. if you're not running baronne however, you have a massive point budget, only needing 9 for your entire engine + extra deck unless you're on shenshen. so in this case, would it be better to stock up on handtraps, or run normally banned draw spells. and i think in speedroid the answer would be what it is in most decks, the handtraps are simply better. now, you could also run upstart in this build too, but i don't think that would necessarily be the best idea for the same reason it isn't in advanced: opening an upstart going second is a card that could have been a handtrap, so you're not just getting a smaller main deck for free. and speedroid is a deck that absolutely has the budget to play however many handtraps it wants.

I came back after seeing the new format (on simulators ofc), I missed a whole lot of recent archetypes, last time I played was when the first Azamina cards were released. The concept is that going second in the format is advantaged and Mitsurugi has the capability to apply a lot of pressure off single cards + Wousu is really good.
