My first time through the game I was enraptured and just sorta took everything as it came (and even rushed through the end a little just because I HAD to know what happened next) but my subsequent playthroughs I think I took the time to slow down and appreciate the game more, especially the run where I went for Universally Loved. I know it would be kind of awkward to find an implementation that doesn't feel shoehorned in but I do wish there was some kind of quest tracker for Faraway because you can miss SO MUCH if you don't already know to do it, and at which times of day after plot-critical story events.

I remember Sweetheart's Castle getting hit with this the hardest because it's right after the first Faraway segment, and feels like it drags on and on.It was only on a repeat playthrough when I let myself stop to smell the roses that I appreciated Headspace a lot more. It felt like the whole of Headspace just went over my head outside the obvious lore bits. That short interaction with Dream Aubrey in Neighbor's Room where she's especially affectionate and considerate over Omori suddenly hit, it really hammered in how much she changed and might have even been Sunny trying to comfort himself with the nicer Aubrey he remembers after what the real her said. Or Dream Kel boiling down something Basil says as him preferring if they just pretended he wasn't around. And there's all the secrets I would only find out about thanks to this place. Or the Student Mole wondering if they'll all still be friends after school possibly reflecting a fear Sunny had. Headspace has a ton going for it if you read into things.I kind of like that you can miss a lot of things in Faraway from side quests to hidden scenes, but it is a double-edged sword. The idea that a player could just never find Mari's grave is staggering, and some side quests feel unfortunate to miss as well. It gives repeat playthroughs a little more purpose if you missed some scenes, but still.

I remember Sweetheart's Castle getting hit with this the hardest because it's right after the first Faraway segment, and feels like it drags on and on.Exactly my feeling as well, which is why I always say I don't get the hate for Humphrey as a segment since it at least has the sprinkle of intrigue of the dream gang forgetting Basil and what you have to do is clearer, Sweetheart's Castle has none of that and I remember wandering around for a good while before realizing that you have to do the dumb tasks for the Sprout Moles to progress.
