Death access is always great with e.g., Horde of Skeletons, which meshes nicely with getting Group Regen going on your giants since they're both in Enchantment.The lightning demons you summon at Blood 4 are very good so go ahead and make them a priority once you have your baseline buffs ready to roll. You need a desert to summon them which can be a bit of a pain in the ass but your pretender flies and so do they.Const4/Ench5/Thaum1/Blood4 are all good research targets. You'll work your way up to bigger evocations with your communions, but keep in mind that your lineup doesn't support Fire communions naturally, so be careful if you start building Matrices to force the issue. The Sibyls are reasonably cheapo communion chaff which hopefully is fairly obvious. From there it's really down to what you're up against. Kohen Gadols are what you're angling to lead your armies with given their sweet H3 (H4 if you prophet one!) so keep an eye on what the Blood crosspaths are giving you in terms of spells.Ultimately it's LA and you're a combo Communion/Sabbath nation. You'll end up doing both so make sure you've got a handle on the blood part of it in particular.

I gave Zemaitia a try today, their expansion phase is very, very strong. I went max scales with a pretty minor bless just to pump the moose a little bit and had 22 provinces by 12 with no real issues. Bear Chudes + Moose seemed to handle just about any given indie pretty well.

Certainly feels much worse than going full scales, the expansion parties are smaller meaning you take more losses and Hard Skin doesn't actually do very much for the Knights' overall protection.I haven't tried the moose pretenders themselves yet. Trample is certainly good but neither of them have enough protection to actually survive. Curious how Etherealness might work out on the Ghost Moose though.I think they're a great beginner nation for the Late Age. No complicated blood economy or communions to worry about, the buffing with the earth and glamour mages is very straightforward, and going full scales means you won't totally fall off as the game goes on. More than anything though their expansion is strong (without an expander), which is something new players tend to really struggle with.

Seems to me like LA Ulm really needs an awake expander otherwise their expansion is a real fucking slow struggle. But they also want prod and magic if possible. But the pretender also needs to have death and blood added otherwise why are you even playing the nation. I guess they can do without a bless but that's still a lot of things to balance. Any hints?
