>>541407647I'm more wondering if it scales to require the passive bonuses like the forest exploration that goes up to 80. That day2 newfag quicklaunch banner requirement to do the sorcerers stone throwback stuff spawned a professor quirrel with 25,000 health going into it at around deck lv30 which was fucking nonsense. All of year1 has been seal clubbing but if year2 expects 40, 3, 50, 4, 60, etc. then that's getting into nikke territory of needing to log in for several months just to play the cozy babygame part of the game.
>>541403804>>541408872Level 60-70 will be enough. The maximum level of daily forest missions opens at 80.The end of the third and the beginning of the fourth years can be really difficult. >>541546476It's pretty much only for when you have hundreds of thousands of gold cuz you don't have anything to spend it on other than grinding to level cap for the hell of it and you see a card you regularly use and go oh goodie only 11 more to go to level it up.
>>541545125You only buy 20k cards for legendaries that you are very serious about using on your decks, as gold is fucking precious in this game and runs out way faster than you think it would once you get into a high tier.Fiendfyre is pretty busted once its maxed out, but that's a hell of an investment that you're nowhere near cashing in on
>>541546476>but surely there is a small list of cards that are worth it to define a specific buildThere are key legendary cards for each echo and play style yeah, but considering how new your account seems you'd be far better off waiting until it matures and you see a clear trend as to what cards you've been lucky to get and would be worth investing further in, then prematurely buying legendaries now.
>>541545125Early on it's better to only purchase one single legendary or above card that you're certain you will use.Raising your deck level is more important because it raises your HP and Basic Attack damage.Always assume you don't have enough gold.

I'm in the general one for the sake of getting update announcements so I guess you could find me and DM there or something but it's probably easier if you just apply here? Or just message Mega or I through MA itself.>>54154512520k gold for a legendary isn't an awful deal eventually but I'd recommend avoiding buying the monthly legendary/mythic/dark from the shop at least for now, unless you really want that specific card. Gold becomes scarce quickly and you need it for raising card levels, which in turn raises your overall level. Since basic attack damage and most importantly your HP scale off overall level, this is pretty important. Also, it's more efficient to spread out your upgrades since cards become progressively more expensive to upgrade to higher levels — focusing on raising the cards you like the most isn't bad but just don't over-focus or you will be short on gold and lacking in HP.As for Fiendfyre itself... it's an odd one? With a high card level combined with Hagrid echo and Spiders (they die and empower it), along with Carpe Retractum+Flipendo, Portkey, and Episkey, it is borderline unkillable and a single one can easily kill an opposing player from full HP by itself. However... if they have Ivy, Crucio, Whizbang, Thunderstorm, or Atmospheric Charm it dies trivially, and you won't have many other offensive options since it's a card you have to build your deck around. So it's ridiculously overpowered against anyone who doesn't have a direct counter and trash against anyone who does.>>541573698Hehe.
>Mega only got one birthday wishkek
>>541587024How many you got?
>>541587024You can't expect strangers to shower me with praise and gifts, it doesn't mean anything.
Snape feels so impossible to make viable. He always feels *almost* good but then half of everything that exists just passively invalidates absolutely all of his cards.
>>541596280I've been using this deck, and Ginny with the exact same cards and I've gotten to MA every season since release. What are you struggling with specifically?
>>541596667This is what I'm using currently... it's mostly just the usual issue of Thunderstorm and Headless Hunt instantly deleting every Crab and TT on the board, plus Kevin dying. Also Inflatus/Pranktastic stunlock (they're hard to dodge for anyone but even more so with Snape wanting to be at the front all the time).Previously I had something closer to what you're using — with Kelpie, Priori, and Swelling Solution replacing Fire Crab and Carpe+Flipendo (I don't have enough levels on Chinese Fireball and Obscurus to make them work), but I was struggling with instantaneous summon floods at the start (e.g. Twins + Locomotors + Bombs/Suitcase), Dumbledore/McGonagall Protego Totalum turtle, and too many things deleting Kevin (even if I wait for them to burn their mana before summoning him, wolf form Abigail instakills and summon flood isn't much slower).I swapped in Carpe/Flipendo and Crabs because they help against summons (especially before Kevin is charged up), Carpe helps keep him alive until that point (though not as reliably as I'd like), and I can Accio people into Crabs, throw them at turtling players, or use them to force people into my auto attack range. It seemed better overall for a while but now I'm feeling like this has just as many issues as the previous setup.
>>541599239You have to learn and get a feel for how you charge up Kevin. If your opponent starts off with Summons you can most of the time not care about him, manticore kite them as you slowly charge up.If not, and if they're especially aggressive you'll want to Priori your clone before you drop Kevin.Dedicating three cards like you do for what you use them for I wouldn't recommend. A popular card to use instead of that is Whomping Willow. You kind of have to run Chinese Fireball or Kelpie to deal with large amounts of units (like Newt Echo). You can't do much against Pranktastic Present except placing a clone near you (it's never a bad idea against summoners)If Protego Totalum and Abigail really get on your nerves you kind of have to take Inflatus.Obscurus is more of a dodge/quick Kevin charge/Crystal Ball combo, you do not want to abuse it.I also recommend dropping one of your offensive companions for a more supportive one, like Hagrid or Snape. Dumbledore is nice too.Wolf form Abigail, just Accio her during her slow walk. It's annoying when you can't though.
All this deck discussion makes me miss nuking people with my deck
>>541600604there was an achievement this season for having Abby jump two ppl, you would've had a field day
Guh,well that's -400 for the day...I feel like I've gotten better at charging up Kevin but all the things he buffs just feel quite unreliable... TTs get killed incredibly easily (HH, TS, Chinese Fireball, Harry Oppugno, Twins) and Crystal Ball doesn't land a lot of the time (Obscurus, Invisibility Cloak, Protego Totalum, Hagrid companion breaking its targeting). There is Obscurus I guess but it's better as a dodge anyway, and using it at low level is risky since the damage is low but the self-debuff remains the same.I actually tried Whomping Willow before Fire Crabs, even raised it to 18 for Snape, but it had the same issues of TS and HH just deleting it for free — even more so though since Crabs get the damage resistance while in their shell. I'd give it another try but I'm just not quite sure how to make it work? I've been doing the thing with keeping a TT clone near myself after you suggested it a while back; it definitely does help. That's probably a good thought on the companions... do you find Snape works okay even at a low level? I've been interested in trying him but worried that I didn't have enough levels to make him usable.
>>541604972Snape is most valuable for me because it helps with nukes and he knocks back summons on use.Harry is also good but he gets nuked right away and if you use him like a lot of people do it's setting you or your teammate up for a kill anyway.
>>541604972Where's your glacius?
Bro? What the FUCK did you mean by this?
>>541605254Oh yeah, I forgot about him knocking away summons. I so rarely see him used that I'm not too familiar with him honestly... maybe I'll give that a try then; between that and his spell shield I can see why he'd be helpful.>>541606364I used to run it in my Hermione deck, but it's just not usable anymore since it can't hit air and like 70% of decks use Suitcase. I swapped to Glacius Maxima on Hermione; it's really good after the buff... I was kind of considering it for Snape too because it benefits from TTs but I couldn't fit it alongside the crabs. Since Crab Snape isn't working out that well anymore though maybe I will see if the next iteration has space for it?
>>541608387Also remember Snape has increased attack range unlike Ginny, even more under Swelling Solution, so use that and manticores to make sure you and your clones stay alive and on the offensive.

>>541604972It might just be newfag bias but snape is the only deck that even feels viable to run, but it's all about pressure and forcing an enemy into attack range. kelpie, time turner on the back wall, fireball, demiguiese, accio, etc. to force the enemy to not hide in the corner. It falling off into this gay summon spam meta wouldn't be surprising but with and against people with cards under lv10 it cleans up. Like everything just being lower level fucks up any semblance of an even fight but snape at least does the damage to eat through the decklevel disparity, even if at the end of the match you've done 30% more damage with them at 30% remaining health.
>>541626279Goodnight anon
>>541610434Mhm, I do try to take advantage of that when I've got Manticores active to kite a bit. The range margin is pretty thin, but it still helps... I didn't actually know Swelling Solution boosts it further though; is that mentioned anywhere?>>541611997Spring allergies.>>541632147Mmm... I'd definitely say there's some new player bias in that; the meta is isn't anywhere near as rigid in new player tiers where you're not fighting primarily against whales with every card in the game at level 18+. Summons get such an insane HP disparity that even doing over 400% more damage than the opponent is no guarantee of a win (see pic related and note that that is a *loss*). A big part of the problem is also just the existence of Headless Hunt, which can only be used by summoners and is outright the best AoE spell in the game. Focusing on pressure like you mentioned is what I was trying to do with the Fire Crab build but the fact that like 25 MP of crabs and TTs gets deleted by a single 5 MP spell makes it fall a bit flat.I don't think Snape is terrible even given all that; he's definitely usable, but if Kevin dies early, or if your Time Turners get HH nuked, or if you fall too far behind on the summon culling, it's really easy to end up in an unwinnable position. And it's quite easy to misplay with him and lose an advantage, while a solid half or so of the meta decks kind of just don't have to make decisions and win by default if you mess up.
What is the worst spell/summon card in MA? And why?I want to know which one is really shit, not the one you hate the most.
>>541634231Mooncalf is doo doo ass
>>541634231Hmm hard to say... for all my complaints, the MA team at least does a pretty good job of making every card at least usable. Overall though I think I'd say the worst spell is either Confundus, Protego, or Legilimency and the worst summon is Accio Snowman, with Thunderbird/Firework Box/Memory Vial/Book of Spells as (dis)honourable mentions.Confundus is kinda just... meh? It's an autohit control spell so I think making it weak was a very reasonable decision, because it'd be super obnoxious if it were strong. But the debuff it gives is short-lived, the damage boost is tiny, and it's not that much cheaper than other vastly stronger control spells.Protego is okayish but underwhelming. It works best on swarms of small summons, the shield decays so you can't pre-emptively cast it and have to instead use it as a quick reaction, and although the shield strength is decent, it isn't enough to protect against the strong AoEs which are the main threat to swarms anyway. This is another that would be awful to fight against if it were strong though.Legilimency is probably good with Felix Felicis but it's just not worth its cost otherwise.Accio Snowman... I think just doesn't really have a valid use case currently? Like I just don't know what you'd use it for. It takes a long time to activate and can be killed, and once it does its thing it lets you send non-immobile summons to a particular location you picked when you initially cast it and shields them a bit. For 1 MP more (or 1 MP *less* if paired with Carpe Retractum), Flipendo lets you instantly send summons, including immobile ones, to any target location and gives them a massive damage buff.Thunderbird/Firework Box/Memory Vial are all okay but not worth their cost... except with Newt/Ron/Dumbledore echo respectively. Free Thunderbirds are a lot better, Firework Box with damage buffs and transported into your face hurts, and Memory Vial directly feeds Dumbledore's win condition and can be shielded for free.
>>541635912Oh I forgot to mention Book of Spells but it's just kinda bad. Throwing random spells at people randomly with no rhyme or reason is rarely that useful. But it can be cast at minimum charge to feed Suitcase, and Suitcase is blatantly OP, so it's pretty viable despite being useless at its intended purpose.
>>541635912>confundus being an aimed spell, choose a random any angle direction instead of just inverting controls, and lasting longer would make it actually fit into the small roster of control spells. I think the AI just flat ignores it and most players are so static the 1.5 seconds of flipped controls barely matter for the rare time there is only 1 target and you have the mp to toss it and immediately throw an AoE where they'd walk the wrong way into it. As kind of a combat retrospective for why the game never truly took off anywhere, they chose gacha pvp in what to support an MMO/MoBa should be skill based pvp. But now that skill is a distant second to just having card dupes and a passive playstyle they can't go back and rework the effects or it'd get the paypiggies that remain mad they'd fall out of the top brackets. And flipside of that it harms what moba/MMOs sell, skins, that all currency/resources have to go into cards over anything else. The irony is that for a dressup game it's exceedingly slow to actually dress up at all. The cash/freemium shop refreshes under 1 outfit a day and none of them build towards any collection for display like gacha skins. Then the cosmetics gachas have so low rates with no pool of not grand prize clothing anyone can instantly do the math to not pull. Why you see your average chibi whaled player in 1 set they bought all at once, then never again, and your tire kicker wearing a default uniform. Both worked hard against them. Same bones but skill based pvp/level clearing with less of a focus on deck dupes paired with a blind box clothing gacha as the intended currency sink and they'd have satisfied both groups of players, those looking for a competitive game and those looking for a casual wow ERP server game.
>>541639223>he still thinks card level actually does anythinglel
>>541639223I feel like the spending on card dupes and levels being major a concern mostly falls off around the top tiers since it's all old players or whales who have everything they use maxed anyway. It's definitely a big problem around the midgame though, and even later on it probably hampers people's willingness to spend small to medium amounts since even if you get a new card to say 14 immediately it's not going to be able to compete with ones at 18+, and immediately maxing a new card requires being an actual whale instead of just a dolphin. The dressup is a lot more reasonably priced for the most part, except for the super premium outfits in the mega gachas. Those ones are weird because there are a handful where the non-grand prizes are good enough to justify spending on, but then most of the rest are such a ripoff that it isn't reasonable to even try unless you're willing to spend whatever it takes to get the outfit. But yeah, it definitely is pretty slow to get stuff.I think overall there are kinda just too much all-or-nothing type situations when it comes to the gacha? It doesn't really encourage me to spend a lot of money when I can only guarantee something by spending a lot all at once. Admittedly I have spent quite a bit overall but that's mainly on the monthly card and sometimes pass, over the span of almost three years. It's a nice game for having a bit of everything, and all of it works decently, but I think every part of it has some pretty big flaws that could use work.
>>541640096I can only really comment on the current onboarding process, but for new players it's the kind of grim that explains why even china dropped off to 6 figure revenues. >can't dress up between no clothing to buy for any currency + highly taste specific costume gachas >deck construction was a rough journey for general content, deck recommendation system sucks very hard without a filter for currently owned cards >deck theory broken as a concept by gimmick levels in the forest/events that require you to not use your preferred echo/cards in favor of whatever mechanic is the only one that works >day1 legendary echoes from the event shop/week1 legendary echo's from grinding/fren exploiting invalidates entire system of grey-purple. rerolling too resource intensive to even look at for minor bonuses before late, late game. >deck power/echo power metrics pointless and not a tool, no shit all legendaries are more powerful but that isn't a 'deck' >pvp either a stomp or getting stomped >server disconnects ruin more runs than whales >for new accounts dueling becomes a way to clear dailies, so better not at higher levels >deck builder and all game systems, relation systems, etc. don't impact the story events at all I can see how a lot hammer out the year1-4 events and play the event backlog, or grow tired of it, and then just feel walled by everything else. combat, quidditch, doomtowers, even dancing all have a low ceiling for "mastery" then a big, big gulf of spending money before anything changes. I'm pretty much sitting here with unlocking lotties dress as the only goal remaining that's in the achievable category after getting to where most players seem to be based on profiles in the first couple days.
>>541635912Thunderbird only makes sense for tempo/zoo decks, particularly the ones that use lottie like Newt. Sirius will be a gigabuff to them because his shtick is that he he marks characters and increases their attackspeed/ability procs and they are essential so that Lottie won't paint herself into coma

So am I better at dueling than Hecat? She seems like she's supposed to be this magical CIA person but she doesn't, far as I know, kill even a single goblin. Is she just acting like a faggot?
>>541661398Hecat got fired for being shut compared to other unspeakable's. When you're magical MiB and you get blasted by a curse you can't defend then it's game over. Plus you're the god damn chosen one. Ask this question again when you finish the main story.

>>541678718Thank you for hosting, Mega. >>541633770>Headless Hunt, which can only be used by summonersEhh, it can be used by just about any echo with the usual filler summons. I’ve seen it splashed into almost every deck imaginable. Same with the Standard Book of Spells, which remains the most egregious card in the game. Thankfully its usage has died down a little bit since the removal of the new card bonus on Felix.

>>541676146>>541678718Thank you for the events!>>541641472>day1 legendary echoes from the event shop/week1 legendary echo's from grinding/fren exploiting invalidates entire system of grey-purple.Yeah I don't even know why grey echoes exist. Purples have an existent usefulness period; I remember using one preferentially over golds for quite a bit at the start just because it had good card bonuses while my gold ones didn't. It depends on the echo though; for some it's really important to have a gold while for others you can get by with purple and it isn't too bad.>>541643846Mm yeah, Sirius will probably be good with them. They are very good in Newt decks but I don't see people actually picking them; he just gets them via the echo effect. I think 4 MP is too expensive to take them as a normal card for how frail they are, but free Thunderbirds are great.>>541634874>>541661228I definitely wouldn't consider Mooncalf weak/bad; having 2-3 of them finish their dance is a win condition. And while they do make you pretty vulnerable, Protego Totalum is a near-guarantee (very few decks have a counter to it). Alternatively you can just spawn a big summon wave and then Mooncalf as soon as your opponent burns their mana defensively on clearing the summons.>>541682679Eh yeah that is true; I guess I mean more "decks with summons" than necessarily pure summon decks (although it does work best with those). I just find it a bit silly that playing pure spells bars you from using the best spell...I'm so glad the Felix Felicis boost is over; Standard Book of Spells is so absurd with it. The number of times I had people spawn like 40 MP of summons with their first 10 MP at the start of a match... bleh! Funnily enough I actually see Standard Book a bit less often now than I did *before* Felix was added; I think maybe people got used to how overpowered it was with the boost and then it felt bad after going back to the normal version even though it's still incredibly strong.
