tower definitely had a way better CULTURE. way less shittery (at least for me but I also play faust). could easily run multiple sets without it being annoying that the matchmaking is forcing you into it and usually most people would want to do it. was always nice to find top players like dany and totsubunger in the wild. barely ever had anyone ragequit and one and done. the reality is that fighting game players are not mentally well enough on average to handle a number attached to their gameplay. I already had to tell multiple people back before ranked to turn off their rating update since they were that affected by monopoly elo
