I feel like I'm in a bit of a rut, or at least plateau'ing.I'm 42k MMR and my winrate's been middling at 50% so I'm not climbing. Sure, a bunch of losses could be attributed to shit teammates but there were plenty of games where it felt like I'm being outskilled by the enemy. If I get put on core (I don't like playing core), they are outfarming me purely on efficiency alone as opposed to say, being better at teamfighting or having better teammates. I'm watching them farm on the replay and not really seeing them do anything special or different that I can tell. They take two waves, do two camps, then come back to take waves again. If anything, feels like they're just playing to farm for 40 mins to get six-slotted first and literally nothing else matters so maybe they just got lucky with the strat? They have like 3,000 games and are the same rank so it's not a smurf smurfing, probably. But it does bother me that they have way more farm than I'd expect them to.Also there are times on support where I somehow lose free win lanes that I used to win before and I'm not 100% sure how/why. Sometimes it's free kills getting away when they shouldn't be able to, or enemy supports just auto-attacking the shit out of me and coming out ahead even though I should be winning that trade. Makes me question my sanity.So my conclusion is that 43k and 44k MMR players know something I don't and I need to learn what they're doing differently. Tempo and pacing is always important when running a marathon. You want to last long enough to complete it.It's been a year since I finished the arcana. I'm at 4 mil damage now. I haven't played WR as much since the nerfs and also because I have to play against more and more people spamming Blademail and making my life miserable. I'm not saying this to brag but saying that when I took it slow and stopped giving a shit, I still got 1.5 mil damage over a year. So, my advice is to just take it easy and stop worrying about it. It sucks that you won't finish in weeks, but it beats stressing out over the grind and burning out and hating the thing you grinded for.This shit is designed for people who play a lot of Dota like we all do here. Not for casuals who play FOMO events one week at a time. So just enjoy the arcana, grind what you can when you can, and don't stress out over it too much. You'll get the unlock eventually. It's "only" 600 games instead of 250.

Why do I NEVER EVER EVER EVER see the players that I commend on my team in consecutive matches?My experience with the Dota 2 matchmaking system in 2025 has been astronomically abysmal. I went down in MMR from 6400 to 5200 now and it keeps getting worse and worse and worse. It's the same downward spiral pattern every time. Players that have been muted before. Players that slipped out of the avoid list because I put others in there. Players that I DEFINITELY clicked the Dislike button on - and that button seems to be a MAGNET for assigning them to my team.And then I lose 3 games in a row. I win another one. I lose 4. I win once more. And lose 5 matches. Again and again and again it keeps happening. Good players one game, no complaints, no toxic bullshit, 4 commends, and IMMEDIATELY after that game - you guessed it: premuted teammates. At least in 3 games in a row. WHY can't it EVER be the people that I just had an enjoyable game with?
