It's good to have an OW phase then go back to TF2, eventually play both games concurrently when you've had your fill hard focusing a game etc. Overwatch is a great experience these days that I'd recommend to all my TF2 friends

>>541563392I mean for me the game went through a dark period roughly 2010-2015, that's when they added really annoying weapons until 2 major 2015 updates where they reworked many, and then finally the 2017 update where they reworked like a billion of them and fixed almost all of the pain points in teh game. But that 'dark period' was so obnoxious I literally got into competitive 6v6, not because I'm even a competitive gamer, but I just wanted to fight people without that annoying stuff. Ever since it all got fixed though I love pubs again like the original game. Personally though I've never been into the 'class-tactics' and team composition choices, cause the best choice is always to go the high ceiling characters and hard carry. That's why I prefer to stick to one class for the duration of a map and adapt to what they throw at me. I definitely see what you mean with the 'what you see is what you get' argument but once you memorize the weapons TF2 is honestly just that, and as a plus doesn't have multiple similar hitboxes/silhouettes (the skinny women in Overwatch. inevitable when you have this many characters so I'm not complaining). The different weapons despite enabling different playstyles scarcely alter how you should play against the characters. The big exceptions are visually noisy or distinct, too, like demoknight, wrangler, vaccinator..I respect anyone who has complaints about the items though cause people used to gaslight me for thinking there was a problem at all when it got really bad, and I felt really vindicated when they spent a couple years of updates just on cleaning it all up.

The the biggest difference between TF2 and Overwatch that isn't better or worse is reloading. In Overwatch reload management is a skill like in counter-strike. In TF2 you can just set it to auto-reload cause it's cancelable and not think about it. In TF2, reloads are cooldowns. As a scout if you observe a demo shoot all his pipes or soldier shoot all his rockets you can W him, cause he has to load them all one by one like Tracer blinks instead of reloading the whole clip at once.

But she's not killing you as a tank when you dive her by herself with no help haha, but she can sleep/nade and run to safety.
