As someone who's still enjoying BO6, I always saw Treyarch as the middle line between designing around player feedback (Sledgehammer) and sticking to their vision (Infinity Ward) so I'm somewhat surprised by how many feedback-driven changes BO7 went through already. Starting from the game design itself, they removed tac sprint, which I always thought was a nothing burger in BO6. It may have contributed to the inconsistent pace of the previous CoD games but in BO6, tac sprint barely mattered and the sprint perk was useful since the attachments buffed normal sprint speed, not tac sprint.Then with automatic doors, which turned out to be a bigger issue than normal doors. I was actually in support of manual doors for BO6 since gamemodes like SnD or even Ranked Play rely on Ninja as a core perk for all classes. So manual doors and glass walls helped with focusing players on how they move and open doors, which line they should push, and so on. Same with tac sprint, it's one of the things people rightfully attribute to MW19, but without thinking about how the game in question is designed around them. Doors were spammed everywhere in MW19, and in some cases, they were protecting camping spots aka safe spaces, all while having dead silence as a field upgrade.With how strictly balanced BO6 was, BO7 is leaning heavily towards the other direction. Field upgrades like Active Camo could easily score you multiple kills. Echo Unit is barely distinguishable from normal enemy models; this is one of the very few things MWII did better than the rest. Scorestreaks like D.A.W.G. are designed to get more kills than aerial streaks like Watchdog Helo. And let's get into the wallhack sniper, which doesn't have any counterplay from what I know. Overclock effect to the overbalance is still unknown, but I can see it drawing the line harder between a leveled-up progressed player vs a fresh level 10 player. As if gunsmith having millions of required attachments wasn't enough.Cont.

BO7 maps are generic, sterile and the safe 3 lanes template is plastered over every map. Not all BO6 maps were good, some of them were ass, but it felt like they were actually trying to make maps with unique flow rather than having a set of maps playing the exact same way.

Why is Specialist going to be a wildcard? Treyarch are clearly balancing classes purely based on opportunity costs, so the fact that Specialist replaces your killstreaks is plenty opportunity cost already. It should just be a toggle like it was in MW19 (I can't believe Treyarch is making me use MW19 as a positive example) Instead, Specialist is going to block all other wildcards AND also your killstreaks, when no other wildcard has any negative tradeoffs.
