I didn't even know SF4 existed until much later in its lifespan, I stumbled into it by chance on twitch.tv during EVO because LoL was offline or something. And none of my friends ever picked it up. SF6 has tons of new blood, broke every metric you can think of and managed to appeal to casual mainstream communities like that of vtubers, TYLER1 etc. it's clearly the most influential fighting game since SF2.
