I was speaking and our Magistus as a whole since the whole thing is pretty much a series of archetypes tied to popular characters.
SS was an anomaly that had an impact similar to Dragonmaids, except the cards weren’t so restrictive for them to design since the only rule is “broken spells”
Branded, while strong, had the biggest focus on super poly mechanics and fusion summoning that then applied Dogmatika principles that brought them both to greater heights of design potential we will not at all even with the current meta decks of today.
No deck in Yugioh ever had a nadir servant, “the fallen and the virtuous”, Quem, or any mechanic focused upon the ED like it and Dogmatika does.
Occasionally, we will see elements of it, but it will never be anything to that full extent. While cards like Aleister the Invoker (including the retrain it just gotten) will always dated due to the fact that “Fallen of Albaz” has a far more unique relationship with the game and resource manipulation that no Omni-negate could ever achieve.

Nah. Tears are way too broken. They should be nerfed in some way. 1 effect per turn would make more sense by how powerful their effects are and would limit the stupid nature of having multiples of them. Since their turn 1 boards always benefitted from them using all of their effects at every single time.
If they’re supposed to be a gambling deck, they should have this idea that everytime you use an effect, you lose a valuable opportunity.
For example, if you use the first effect of this card, it would still be very strong. But, you can’t recover this card from the GY this turn. The second effect is so good, you could refuse to use the first effect and send a Tearlament to the GY to summon a boss monster.
Simple things like this that wouldn’t make Tearlaments an annoying mess to deal with.

Mind Master would need to be normal summoned and needs another card to special summon itself to get going - since Mind Master can't tribute itself. It would also cost a point which would remove Ghost Ogre or another card, so it probably ended up being regarded as too situational.

Tearlaments are balanced as long as Kitkallos stays banned, the maindeck sluts could be bumped to 2 and they'd just amount to a single rogue top (mostly out of high representation and a lot of people jobbing with it but the quantity still let a single fishfag pull to top 8)
