On a related note, the changes to soul cores also reduces tech, since now (at least so far) there is no way to negate enemy grabs using soul cores like you could in Nioh 2, since all yokai soul core summons now happen with a Yorimitsu-holding-up-a-box-style summon. And the fact that certain weapons are now Ninja Style exclusive, like Hatchets, means that all the cool Hatchets tech I learned in Nioh 2 are basically useless. Though of course, there's the possibility that Ninja Hatchets will bring about its own tech, so I'm open to that. I never bother to read the pre-release profiles but Galby's is super edgy and borders on SCP fanfic. Her original resonance ability was fire related but it combined with Chimera to give her the power to absorb frequencies, all her abilities we see now are different TD's she absorbed (one of them is called Galbrena), and she's a schizo who talks to them while awake and fights them to the death in her dreams over and over until they either submit or are erased. She uses guns but doesn't actually need them at all. The Black Shores researchers say it's a miracle she can overclock at all after coming into contact with the Dark Tide.
