The more Kiseki games I play the more I realize that I despise Falcom's style of making 80 hour long prologues for half of the series. In Crossbell it showed how a weak democracy can be easily corrupted and how power that comes easy is also easily lost.In Calvard, I think it's showing the dangers of unilateral power in a democracy. Gramheart's chud party won, and like you said they did a 180 on what they campaigned on. But so what? They're the majority in the government. If they damage control well-enough, people can be appeased. And besides, aside from the commoner vs noble thing CS had in its first two games, the game isn't particularly focused in exploring how its NPCs view its government. Even in those two games, aside from Jusis and Machias, that tension and feeling of hostility was mostly nowhere to be found. Finished Zwei 2, overall a massive improvement over the first in literally every way and just a plain old charming, fun good time. 1 was an interesting game in terms of design that didn't really hit the mark in most, if any, ways and I personally wouldn't recommend it unless you want to complete the Falcom library for completions' sake, 2 is worth playing just to play a fun game. Also, it managed to actually make me laugh without resorting to the usual 'oriental humour' shit (it was the bit in the castle with the monsters in jail).

Zerofield is good too. Lloyd with evade and aggro is good. Cold steel 1 and 2 and especially 2 is where physical crafts become amazing. Afterwards both physical and arts are good with arts being better due to crow and azure destiny and equipping a certain artisans equipment but you will worry about that once you get there. There are certain battles and time limits for detective point requirement that require you to use arts as primary attack

I liked crow in cs1 and cs2 because he was a rival to Rean and made him question his role in the war and ended up being the catalyst to him doing his war hero/warcrime stuff in end of cs2. Like crow had a purpose even helping the class with the concert and being senpai. But cs3 and cs4 I don’t think writers understood his arc from previous games
