As you reach a professional level you want to draw using edged shapes and angles. This is because the shapes should have a "dominant" line to demonstrate confidence. This isn't a set-in-stone rule(once you get really good at following rules you should break them) but good to keep in mind. A lot of your favorite super talented artists, they don't use circles or ovals. They use cubes, triangles, semi-circles and such. Now if you're at the most amateur level you can just ignore this rule for now. But when you start to "git gud" at general proportion and basic shape, this is becomes important for actual ANATOMY.
