I noticed both 3 and new vegas tried to keep their weapons to be themed around the dlc, and while I try to keep this consistent in my own mods this becomes a lot harder when it comes to energy weapons.

Luckily I can fall back on fire weapons being classified as energy weapons. "This thing lights other things on fire" has alot more versatility then you think.

next up is the rust raider armor. there's 70 meshes for it, so it'll take a while. going to re-do the textures of the deathclaw gauntlet and breathing mask since I re-did the white mask, and roll it all into one mod once everything is done.

tried finding a mod that adds more terminal variants to the Workshop to replace the knackered looking one you can build by default but the only ones I can find are only decorative.

It can be over-designed and stuff like the strigidae are way out of place in a sense but a handful of them are pretty much in line with vanilla style armor just much, much higher quality.

It's being modular is also a huge plus, even if you don't like 80% of it you can just take the long coats and slap that over mostly anything you want.

The armor in your screenshot is the kind of thing I'd pass over every time because of how jank it looks even if its thematically cool, same reason I avoid tumbajumba's stuff.

Guess it just comes down to preference.

You haven't seen the major updates games lik Star Trek Online get. The amount of time it took me to explore everything in Burning Springs, and do the MQ + side quest, is more time then STO gets in like 4 major updates, which are spread out over a year+. Fallout 76 also gets updates between stuff like skyline Valley, and burning Springs, other MMOs like STO don't get.

While it varies from game to game, I know several game devs who've said the average play time for an MMO, per week, is like 2 hours. And that's what they expect/strive to hit. That's only about 17 minutes a day.

So you are an autist. I will say this to you - not everything that looks good on a paper or spreadsheet actually looks good in real life. And there is a whole lot of data that goes to show that developers and publishers who pursue that fail miserably with their product, assuming they can deceive new players (and thus have a high player rotation) and retain whales. Please dont tell me you dont know what a whale is in context of video games. It is not an aquatic animal.

FNV mod recommendations from another thread.
From what i remember all of those listed individual mods and series (apart from DUST) are playable on a single run and are made for an NCR aligned character.
DUST meanwhile is more of a total conversion mod and requires a fresh stand-alone install.

bounty hunting action, western coded, blood meridian, etc, plenty of new DLC sized areas.
>th3overseer series
requires the „khans leaving“ outcome. mostly action and mystery, starts off rather small but grows into an increasingly interesting overarching story with many cross-references. tone and characters remind of sicario, true detective and glowie stuff, occasional DLC sized map additions, great humor with his final mod.
>Strangers abroad series
a well crafted mix of espionage, tech vault scavenging, ocean’s eleven, conspiracies, some horror elements. sadly the modder quit after the third episode right when you seem to get your team together and the story starts to pick up steam.
>Haunted Casino
well made horror. perfectly achieves what it sets out to do.
>Zion Trail
good story and nice mix of indoor and outdoor exploration on a huge new map.
>Tales from the Burning Sands
puzzles, cooking, upgradable turret pet, no quest markers. (mod series is as old as NV itself, but there's a lot of interesting shit done here that a lot of modmakers haven't tried. it's good in a scrappy but very genuine sort of way) His fo3 mod series is also pretty good. It had a special crossbow with upgrade slots you could customize to deal with any sort of enemy. Rarely see a mod do something like that.

mystery, character focused. the pinnacle of story-focused noncombat mods as far as i'm concerned.

this is genuinely undercooked, like terrible ESL writing but it's really ambitious and admirable because it kinda feels like fallout 2 but in NV. You get a handful of maps with quests that connect them and you travel on a super janky overworld with your car like in classic fallout. If the writing was better it would easily be in my top ten.

a full blown true bad ending fanfic but there's a lot of work put into it and it can be quite fun story-wise. gameplay-wise it's like pulling teeth and I wouldn't personally play it without modding the combat.

didn't play that one yet, but it basically reimagines the dry wells area from lonesome road, you can visit it prior to it being nuked and do quests, supposedly very well made.
same team is currently working on a long 15 mod, where you can visit NCR area west of mojave outpost

Not him but Burning Spring is more of what we've seen already in Fallout 76, but made to look more western desert like, with the explanation that the Abraxo company was doing some experiments and dumping toxins into the ground that caused this desertification.

Bethesda said they're planning out all the way to update 76, which, based on how updates have come out, would be mid 2027. They've also heavily hinted at expanding on Burning Springs, and adding more quests. Given the pattern they've generally used
-Q4 2025: Burning Spring
-Q1 2026: smaller update
-Q2 2026: Burning Springs P2
-Q3 2026: smaller update
-Q4 2026: Capital Wasteland
-Q1 2027: smaller update
-Q2 2027: Capital Wasteland P2
I'd expect one of those smaller updates to be a 2nd raid, that adds 5 star legendaries.
