Victory from the fucking jaws of defeat. Thought I fucked myself twice or thrice and still pulled through somehow. One time I even had to sprint through a Hallway, while the screen was fading out but made it to my upgraded Nursery in time which reset my steps to 20, didn't even know that was possible. Also>Found the safehouse>Found 2 Sanctum KeysProbably some more shit I forgot because the run was so long.I'm surprised how much more the game seemingly has to offer. Good shit.

>>541902890So turns out I've had a bug with my agencies for the last 200 hours that have kept them suppressed to low pop, due to two mods with a conflicting file. Fun.At least now it's fixed, one disaster fix suddenly gets me 80% of the total req for that location.

I would like Brigand Oaxaca if it was just a little less stilted. It also takes too long to load some sections (16gig thinkpad shouldn't have a problem with a game that looks like that). It also tilted me that he put in a minesweeper minigame when you get to hack somethingDeus Ex got it right, if you pass the check you should have 100 percent success and not waste time on stupid shit but others still can't seem to take that lesson to heart.
Tower of Kalemonvo is the first Diablo (1) clone that I liked. For some reason it's on the cusp of actually having a good setting and atmosphere. I just have no idea how much content will there be in the end. Right now it's good for 5 hours total. There's one cool snake boss encounter where the room starts shifting into something else until it shows up, being illogical and all. Reminded me of that Stalker hall where eventually you find a bundle of stalkers that fall from the sky.
Again, another Scav test update.
>try dragonwild>die five timesI fucking hate Garous. The Hunters are right, the werewolves are only good with death!

>>541955370If you like diablo clones, id recommend Svarog's dream, it got an interesting death mechanic in the way that you dont just reload a save, but get reincarnated as someone else in the world, so its like pseudo permadeath. Loved the different vibes provided by a pantheon of gods you hardly ever heard about, which is eastern european I think?
>>541958340Oh I tried that one two but it runs poorly on my machine (16 gigs hd620, I also posted about brigand). A quirky addition to the genre, if it ran well I'd play it more. I'm in Serbia and it's weird that the setting is Moravian Serbia crossed with various Slavic mythology themes and I don't think the devs are from here or anything. But yeah that one is worth trying out for sure. It has some novel ideas it seems.

>>542016052Maybe just quit the game when the situation is unsalvageable?
>>5420105812 months ago I binged baldur's gate 1 and 2, last month I did fallout 2 and arcanum. None of them felt as clunky to control as divinity, it has a lot of weird quirks. I could get over it with time, but for now the story is just not good and the gameplay still feels deep as a puddle. I'm 6 hours into the game now and I still feel like dropping it.
>>542021762usually you don't realize its unsalvageable until you're at death's door, and even then you can save yourself sometimes if you're fast enough
>>542021226Ignoring the fact that it is or may be Chinese spyware in the future, I don't understand how you can play that game. It looks overly complicated and frankly kinda a pain in the ass to play.
>>542024702It's fun, it has a fuckton of depth, it scratches every single itch I have and want to have scratched by a game, the only thing I don't like is that there isn't even more to it and I can't go out on more of a solo journey rather than being tied 90% to my sect. ACS2 looks like it will have that covered though.
I killed the heart on easy mode (=A1) of Slay the Spire with the Silent and the Watcher, now I'm struggling a lot with Ironclad. Except one attempt where I had corruption + draw on exhaust + that 0 cost attack card that copies itself when I got the heart, I die anywhere between the start of Act 2 and end of Act 3. What are your tips for this character? I don't get his cards, I don't feel like I'm doing enough damage and there's alway a turn where enemies do their super attacks and I draw no blocks, probably because I let them live too long.
>>542025676Dead branch is strong with that build, but you need to both have a way to keep blocking (Corruption works if you beat everyone on the first or second shuffle, before you finish all your cards) and a way to scale your strenght. He has a lot of ways to heal aswell

>>542021226Here goes something.
>>542029126Formations up, they have a lot of extra retards who are running interference and distracting my artifacts away from their main sect formation.
>>542029350They're holding on, but having 12 artifacts vs their 6 is a pretty unfair advantage, they can barely get a hit in on me. They're not going down too quickly, but their qi totals are falling noticeably faster than mine.
>>542029570Yeah they're crumbling now that the extras have been killed off. I only lost 20% of my qi in the fight, could have probably done it with half of this.
I forgot how dumb fun some of the reasons for side quest bosses to group up during chapter 7 are.I also don't get why everyone was so mad over the whole chapter 5-8 stuff. i am having fun still.
>>542029796that's some crazy modded rimworld you got there
>>542029812also don't look. clearly too much for western eyes.
>>542029796The sect falls, now I can loot their shit and more importantly they're not going to compete with me for the agency locations they had a stake in.I'm only going to kill off one or two more sects, just the ones that are in my way for important agency locations. If I killed off all of them I'd have to solve disasters on my own and that would suck.I haven't even killed off the map beast yet, the one spawns in the bottom right corner of your sect at the start of the game. It will also be a while before Ancient Cultivators and the Flood Dragon show up.>>542029967>(you)
>>542027115I got a good run and won A11 with clad, basically impervious, barricade, true grit, power throught, attack cards that generate or exausts wounds or burns, strenght and limit break, heals are nice if you find those cards but are not required
>>542030445>true grit, power throughtSo you just exhausted the wounds, right?. But how would I use true grit without an easy source of cards that I always want to exhaust? I don't have a good feel for the exhaust gimmick

I love it, thanks for the recommendation anon. I would have gotten to it eventually, but I'm glad I did.No idea where all the clues will lead to and some I don't quite fully understand, but I think I've made a lot of progress for one run. I'm at the point where I have Page and Word numbers that I need to find in 4 books that are anagrams of the 4 titles from the picture. Also I need to find the lower case word in a few notes around the house, I've only gotten 2 so farFunny how this almost made me forget that in this same run I've also opened the red door that leads to the upper tier of the gear room and found Red Letter 1, opened the shortcut to the cliffside and solved one of the sanctums

A good day for light spooky games with this and Little Nightmares 3 out today. I have a little over a year left to finish getting enough pop at them, the resources to actually build them shouldn't be too bad.About 5 to 6 events should happen per location in the remaining time + peasants naturally joining thanks to my appeal at those locations, I'm guessing I'll get about 12 to 20k per event and I need 100k to make a level 3 agency.

There's a list I should probably copy but because of the way it's been made I'd have to individually stitch together a ton of screenshots, I'd also have to join a specific Discord server to grab it and I've time for neither right now.

>>542097951>Why do people love Elin?Sandbox with deep mechanics, insane and silly lore, you can do almost anything and you have to fight the game to get a foothold in it.>Why do people love dwarf fortress?Deep mechanics like Elin except the world is actually breathing and the lore unfolds as you play. Nothing is static in the game and much like Elin you have to fight the game to gain a foothold and a place in the world. Many people have called Dwarf Fort a "story generator" more than a base builder or roguelike and that's kinda true if you are willing to meet the game half-way and actually dive into the lore and do some imagineering.> Because the complexity makes the entire experience collapse unto itself creating a game that is both very deep and completely unpredictable. No? Also, part of the fun is experiencing and exploring. It's why Elona showers you with items in dungeons, the game wants you to engage with its mechanics without fear that you'll lose an item. There are only a handful of times that are rare enough that you shouldn't experiment with in the earlier game.>It's simulated chaos theory.I'd say that is part of the charm, because you don't know what will happen or the illusion of "anything can happen" is so thick it becomes compelling and every moment turns into an exploration into the game itself.>The world doesn't want you dead, it doesn't have time for that.Oh it does want you dead, you are at the bottom of the food chain in both Elin and in Dwarf Fort by sheer merit of volume, but yes. The game does not "target" you in the same way, it just rolls dice in the background then sends a balrog to rape you, or maybe a pack of hamsters. I will have to say that Elin actually does pull its punches on you based on your level compared to Dwarf Fort.
>>542120567>There are only a handful of times that are rare enough that you shouldn't experiment with in the earlier game. There are only a handful of times items are so rare that you shouldn't experiment with them.*

>>542121919It's still based around navigating menus and submenus to designate buildings and zones, but there aren't keybinds for all the submenus, meaning you MUST use the mouse for some tasks. The keyboard shortcuts that still exist aren't displayed anywhere, even when you could easily fit them in the menu buttons.Menus can appear at either the left or right side of the screen. It seems to be context sensitive, based on which side the game thinks you're looking at, but mostly it just feels jarring when the menu position is different from what you expected. It's honestly impressive, considering how barebones the UI was before, how Toady One somehow managed to make it worse.

Since we're on the topic of China gamesThe Bustling World looks really good. But I'm gonna be honest, all the features it offers sounds a little too good to be true so I'm very skeptical it can deliver.Sure it being an asymmetric game with a simpler style makes a lot of this easier, but unless I misunderstood something it promises to be a sandbox where you can build and design your own mansion and play it almost like a strategy game, while also walking through the city, doing GTA and Assassins Creed shit.I recon it's like Kingmaker, where at least some of these systems will be massively simplified or streamlined.
>>542153897That's how I felt playing the TNO mod for HoI4. There's a lot of interesting stuff, but it sounds a lot more fun that it actually is to play for 75% of the time until something cool happens. And with all the reading I might aswell read a book, even if the mod is very impressive. On the topic of politicking games, I'm really hoping Espiocracy won't be forever coming soon and will be actually decent to play when it does come out. I've never thought a Cold War strategy game would be much fun, when there's not too much map painting you can realistically do, but somehow I think putting you in the shoes of an intelligence agency could make the setting very compelling.

>>542188543yeah, you can, but the loot is limited and eventually you will eat all the food, but that's nearly impossiblei take it VERY slow, spending 2-3 hours in each layer, but there's also a challenge mode that forces you to go down quickly by gradually moving a huge line of radiationlooting everything and going slowly has it's drawbacks, though. i almost died from a heart attack once due to obesity
>>542188860forgot to mention, right now the game has 5 layers which loop, but there's going to be a proper ending with about 12 different regions. 10-layer runs can easily take up to 10-15 hours, so it's a very high-commitment game, and my current one is already 8 hours long on layer 6. it's very much like traditional roguelikes in that regard where linear runs can take multiple weeks of constant progress.
