One season, after I ranked down to Silver from not playing pvp for 3 months, I got matched with him in ranked. To stay in spirit with the tier, I played Timelords. Naturally, he was playing War Rocks. I don't remember much of the duel besides him normal summoning a 1900 ATK monster that never activated its effects and ending on 1 Warrior and a field spell. The weird part is that he attacked with all of his monsters every turn, no matter how many times Metarion or Sandaion activated. Eventually I just sat on Lazion and let him die to that.

Even weirder is that he was playing Yubel and spamming only the masochist and homolust lines to my male character, then sent a friend request to me. I declined because his flag was Puerto Rican at the start of the duel and he changed it to Israel 5 minutes after.

This is the final decklist. I used some others, but this got 4 out of the 5 games in the winstreak.

Going 2nd you search for eldlich, golden ball or kaiju depending on opp board and pray he won't stop your cont. spell before you break the board.

Going 1st you set up Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying (if you draw Swamp Mirrorer) via Guardian of the Golden Land + Shapesister. If you don't draw Mirrorers you can do Gallant Granite combo.

The combo is to use trap monster you drew via cont spell and return (don't return spell itself) it to hand to set up 2 Mirrorers. XYZ into Granite and add Heavenly Prison. Use its eff. And set all other cards. On opp turn, on standby use any trap to activate Lord's eff to summon self and set the trap you need. The traps are:
1. Non-Fusion Area for Shaddoll, Despia, Heroes
2. The Eye of Truth for Guardian Angel's Charity skill, Utopia, Winged Dragon of Ra, Lyrilusc, Subterror, Predaplant, Shinobird ( but you probablhy lose vs Shino)
3. Powersink Stone for Ancient Gear, Dinos, Thunder Dragons, Exosisters,
4. Magic Deflector for Dark Magician,
5. Discord for Swordsoul, Speedroid, Synchrons, Gust, Resonators, Fleur.

I wouldn't do it vs Blue-Eyes, I feel like Chengying is better vs them.
I'm still not sure what to do vs Crystal Beasts and Sky Striker and mirror is tricky too.

I don't think it boosts consistency though.
You only need 1 copy; ideally you don't open with it. Instead you'd want to search it with the skill by having a dragon in hand. You are going to banish your one copy later with the sword card, and you can only normal summon Joan once, so there's nothing you could do with the second copy if your opponent yoinks it (aka might as well scoop)
And unlike the dragons you can't send it to the GY as part of the skill, which is important for thinning the deck by a mostly useless normal.
Ideally I open with one or two Sapphires, or draw into them with my opening hand. That guarantees that I can get 1 Joan and two Emeralds on the field (the emeralds are not as useful in hand since I can't normal one for elephant's gift, and use the third as discard fodder for Charity.

The very first time I ever played against Joan they normal summoned Joan twice in one turn. I went back and looked at the log because I was playing Generaider and knew how that skill worked. Joan just gets better summons. You get 1 free Joan Summon + the ability to NS Joan without Tribute.
This is why revealing a dragon to search Joan when she's already in hand is the optimal scenario. You can NS Joan 1 and JS Joan 2. Your opponent wastes interaction on Joan 1 so you can activate Skill 2 with Joan 2.

You can only use this Skill's second, third, and fourth effect once per Duel.
1: You cannot Normal or Special Summon (excluding Special Summons from the Extra Deck) Effect monsters, except Earth Warrior monsters. You can Normal Summon/Set twice a turn.
2: Reveal up to 2 Earth Warrior monsters or War Rock Spell Cards from your hand and shuffle 1 card from your hand into the Deck. Then for the number of cards revealed this way, add Earth Warrior monsters or Spell/Trap Cards that mention War Rock monsters from the Deck to your hand.
3: Before turn start If only your opponent controls a monster, play 1 "War Rock Bashileos" from outside your Deck
4: If you control "War Rock Bashileos", add 1 "Gordian Slicer" from outside your Deck to your hand.

For a minibox that I just did a single run through it's a pretty playable deck. The sister in the new main box summons from deck and you need to redig the minibox to get more copies of their ROTA.

I only hate imperm because now I had to change the setting that forces manual placement of spell/trap cards, when it never mattered before. Slows down the game for everyone.
