"Out of character"If Sonic ever did something in the japanese version of a Sonic game then it's in character. IDW's "Freedom speech" is out of character. We know for a fact that Sonic isn't above killing people himself. The only way this makes sense is if he thinks *he* is the only person who should be allowed to kill or imprison other sentient beings and everyone else must abide by his judgement.Erazor is not worse than IDW Eggman and yet Sonic imprisoned him and either killed him or gave him a fate even worse than death.Furthermore, while you me and everyone else hates Prime, it has to be considered "in character" because Meta Era Sonic does do and say stupid things that survive into the japanese dubs of those games.

I think this "violet" person is being disingenous while attacking IDW. IDW does not accurately portray Sonic's character but the examples "Violet" gives all feature Sonic fawning over and making out with other characters. IDW does not do this. IDW doesn't do this specifically because it's so obviously off-brand that people don't even think to praise IDW for not doing this. You can say whatever you want about IDW but AOSTH and SatAM are not "Better" examples in any way aside from playing up Sonic as a "cool guy'.
