Reports seem to indicate that CA is using the extra development times for Tides of Torment to further expand the map. The FLC lord is also being enhanced with more in-depth mechanics.

Turn 58, Tyrion let Noct traipse about the east coast in the early game while I was trying to find a way to deal with Slaneesh and the Drowned who declared on me as I finished taking the shrine of Khaine region. Beating back the ghost then taking the North Dan the demon boy or whoever declared on me with 3 stacks already on the donut. Yvers got his ass kicked by something and was no help, Then when I finally finished taking the north I had to go all the way to that little shithole island because the asshole wouldn't peace out. Then Noct declared on me while I was over there, and by some miracle I had a fresh stack to meet him. But when I beat his shit in with ambushes Tyrion just swooped in and ate the entire West coast and Ellyrion. And because he was so much stronger he still won't confed even on turn 60. Also every Dark Elf faction in the West fucking THRIVED every fucking one. Blood Voyage every few turns, then they all declare on me once the Sisters died and the second Conehead glimpsed me, boom, war. I'm beyond fucked. I can't tell if I did something very wrong or if this was just a very very very unlucky game. Averlons "Defender of the Donut" penalties are fucking harsh, the second you lose a gate your income is cut by 50% and control tanks and Tryion starts calling you names

how in the fuck are you supposed to play empire in the current state of immortal empires, no matter what you do within short order nurgle will own all the north and kill middenland, barrows will own all the west and kill marienburg, nuln will get eaten by either the other vampires and this is all in the time it took you to get your starting province together from the rebels.
