I can't believe you let the thread die while I was drinking.
>>542218081You drink at work?! Are they hiring?
just got xplane12, starting to think it might of been a mistake
>>542222209NEVER SHOULD OF COME HERE
>>542222209msfs has been doing its annual “decide to just not launch half the time” thing it likes to do for me, time to consider swapping to xp12 again but instead just not sim for two months
>>542222209Be prepared to regret your purchase unless your autistic obsession is available there.
>>542222209>>542234297Unless you have a specific reason to play it it's inferior to msfs, like it or not.

>>542246847Thanks, I'm going to have another flight in it in a bit, it's growing on me.
>>542238749early aviation people were all a bunch of lunatics, it really could've been an innocent home laboratory explosion that killed him at the age of 37 after l ron hubbard stole all his money.he also did loads of drugs and had lots of backyard orgies
>>542246382Retard, retard, retard.
>>542255870that's just rude.
>>542255964Can you go into overspeed in the 71?
>>542256372Yes and easily. at lower altitudes you don't want to go above 480 KEAS and at around 500 you'll end up in a ball of fire (in the sim), meanwhile up high once you reach cruise altitude you can easily keep shooting past mach 3.2 if you don't dial back the afterburner. IRL on particularly cold (IIRC either cold or hot) days they would have to increase altitute to keep their mach under a certain threshold.
>>542258703What speed does it get to before dying?
Haven't simmed in 2 months
>>542261024Sim right now
I hope this is just dust/sand
>Orbx are having a saleFucks sake I don't have any money at the moment, the 346 is on sale as part of it but honestly I have enough trainers as it is currently. The R22 is tempting too as it comes with a gf.

>>542259891Low altitude around 500/550. High altitude I haven't tried yet.
>>542195986Anyone have a moza r9? Would it be a good upgrade from my logitech g29?
>>542266252Lmao, they didn't even bother to remove the tail root from the gripen design
>>542268825But I did remove it
>>542255870first two are a verbthe third is an adjective
>>542267325once
>>542268759It would be a very big upgrade if you already have load cell pedals and other necessities.
>>542269212Oh
>>542269530All I have is the g29 and its pedals. What else should I but with the moza? The g29 was my first wheel.
>>542269507I survived, went through a small patch, had lightning going off round me and it was comfy but would have been terrifying irl.
>>542270060there's a czech company that makes mini autogyro drones for weather measurement, apparently they're more stable in sudden gusts than fixed-wing or multirotors
>>542270060no turbulence?
>>542269834Then you might want to look for Moza's R9 bundle with the pedals. It's generally better to have good pedals with a decent wheel then a great wheel with shit pedals. Break feel's important etc. I've got a T-LCMs and never felt the need to upgrade them. Unless you're 100% sure that you don't care for manual stuff you probably should get a proper shifter (through if you'll end up getting one, I'm not sure if Moza's bundle got the clutch pedal). Also, it might seem like much but it is nice to have some sort of a wheel stand to put all of your shit onto if you have the space for it in your room. Just not having to try and stop your pedals or chair from sliding is a big QoL. I got next level racing 2.0 (the heavy one) somewhat cheap from Bezos and then some cheap no-brand camber wheels for it since it was really heavy. You shouldn't have any problem selling your old stuff since people are always looking for a cheap way into the hobby.
>>542271830>>542274005It was actually surprisingly smooth, the vertical speed shot up by 1000fpm going through that patch, and there was wobbling around on the yaw axis, but not turbulence like in a fixed wing. The weather was fine out of it.
>>542274887maybe someday you'll get a real sim ;-)
>>542282827I have FSX and used to play it, I'm not sure what that has to do with anything
>>542283760there should be a real chance you get ripped apart (as happens IRL)

>>542371847Scary, do heli pilots practice for loss of tail rotor? There's sod all you can do in that time.
>>542383772LTE is a thing you train for, but at low altitude there's fuckall to do for recoveryhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9rJPvJScho
>>542371847It came off because it hit the vertical stabilizer. It actually looks like a tail rotor pitch link is already broken at the start of the video.>>542384681Loss of tail rotor effectiveness is not quite the same thing as complete loss of a tail rotor.
>>542384681Helis stabilise at speed don't they and don't need the tail rotor as much, I presume the answer if it happens at altitude is to keep moving forward?
>>542383772>Scary, do heli pilots practice for loss of tail rotor?Yes, they do. And they prepare for it.
