Are Kingdom Hearts characters obscure? Sora is not. Even people that never played the series know about Sora, the crossover guy that attacks with a big key, and they know that his adventure buddies are Donald and Goofy. And Sora got wider exposure by being in Smash Bros. But what the other characters such as Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Aqua, and all the rest? Are they well known? I saw a 'post obscure vidya women' thread on /v/ and didn't know if KH girls are applicable.

i figured it out. Kingdom Hearts 4 isn't actually meant to be released. It only exists as a method to reduce dev costs via Disney subsidy. Start a project for Disney, develop assets with their financial support, cancel the project, and then reuse the developed assets for their own ventures.

The fact that it's physically impossible for KH4 to suck more than KH3 is the only reason I'm slightly still interested in this series. Unfortunately if Missing Link's cancellation is anything to go by, the damage KH3 did to the franchise certainly means KH4 won't release.
