I'm not enjoying this game, it has become way too fast pace for my liking. Despite it being more of the "same" "gameplay" wise. I seriously question the existence of gun/anti tank placements that have no coverage whilst also extremely exposed. Extremely linear map design might as well just play rush attack/defend. Each control point being ontop of each other

I cant get behind the really fast time to kill & infantry movement, zero class identity. I think I'm no longer the target audience which is fine. I truly regret getting this

It would still be incredibly grindy. Cut it down to 15 kills and it's fine, there was a challenge like that in 2042 with 1/10 the kill requirement and I got it done in like 5 minutes on Iwo Jima against bots.

I finished the SMG challenges and unlocked the SCW10 and SL9.

SCW10 is probably the most 'meta' of the bunch for playing objectives. It's just ridiculously strong 1v1 matchup weapon. the 33 damage 800rpm profile is a huge advantage in close range fights. Not the best medium/long range weapon due to its recoil, but if you're playing close and skirmishing its ideal. Yeah you will spend a lot of time reloading but whatever, that's the price you pay for killing people before they can react, much like a shotgun.

It's very good, and becomes excellent once you train yourself to sit still while firing, instead of strafing around how you do with the other smgs.

The SL9 on the other hand has great precision but a bad/pointless damage profile. You can do basically the same thing with the MP5 but with higher rof. I didn't unlock all the attachments but the weapon felt anemic and pointless when the UMP40 exists. It does have some advanced attachments but those are very deep in the grind.

I hate that DICE still can't figure out a way to make their engine not have screen tearing without using full shitty v sync. Why can't they just make it compatible with fast sync? The only way to make the game look smooth in motion is to use fsr frame gen and while it doesn't really add input lag, it still makes the mouse input feel a bit different.

Also I'm pretty deep into recon now and unlocked special forces. It's really an excellent class and being able to see deployables with your ESP is very handy. I've killed lots of spawn beacons I would have never seen otherwise, and it also spots and shows anti-tank mines on the map.

You're also dead silent while crouch sprinting. Combine that with all the tricks you have from gadgets like creating decoy map spotted soldiers with your sniper decoys, motion sensor, uav, and drone, you basically have total map awareness and baiting ability. You're about as invisible as a player can get in this game, but you really do need to get into the routine of crouch sprinting to not create footstep sounds.

Overall very happy with recon.

default sniper is fine, sv98 has 10 round mag but low velocity so I didn't use it, special ultimate sniper looks mediocre on paper to me, you really need that 1150 velocity to hit moving targets

sniper sucks until you unlock the 'chamber new round while scoped' ergonomic device, and then it becomes much more fun and better

I don't bother with the DMRs, they have very low dps and killing potential until the 66 damage one, which was excellent in the beta since it was 2 body shot kill at every range. I'm close to unlocking it (currently rank 31).

Recon plays best actually forward with your team putting your motion sensors and TUG-S to good use to hold objectives and protect flanks. Being in the middle of the shit with your UAV going is very important, and sniping doesn't give your team any real value unless you are a godlike close range sniper. IMO they should change the UAV call in to a map-placed summon, not just around the recon, but alas.

With that in mind you need a close range weapon, and if you're holding flanks/flanking you need to be able to out shoot anyone instantly. I opt for hipfire SMGs for that role, because you win quite often vs people trying to ADS you.

Its pretty sad really. So many people treat games like checklists to clear asap. Then when that rush of clearing a checklist is gone they get board.

I do think though that more options should have been available for classes at first and basic shit shouldn't have needed such high levels. Zero reason why needing to unlock C4 had a hit level 20 requirement before the challenge even started to track.

Judging by the borked physics and rubbery terrain, this game really is a reskin of BF2042. You have to crash at full speed in order to take damage. There is not even proper vehicle collision: if you get rammed with a jet by shitters, you are catapulted into a random direction and the rammer doesn't take damage, while for you hit terrain at lethal velocity.

It's a very simple formula that DICE managed to retain up to BF4, even if there's an abyss between BF2 and BF3 in terms of complexity. The #1 that diminishes the quality of the franchise is the relentless skill compression in evetything, from physics ove vehicles and gunplay to map design. In order to sell the most copies, you have to also cater to the objectively dumbest player who are somehow capable and allowed to spend money without supervision. Battlefield is being designed around sales and MTX since BF1 (whereas first futile attempts have been made with "Battlepacks" in previous titles) -- rentention is not relevant to EA anymore, because the #1 source of profit for it and its competition are annual releases (e.g: sports games/CoD). Games capable of retaining players, like BF2/3/4 are a thorn in its side, planned obsolence yields more shortterm profit and that is all that matters in today's "economy".

Maybe you should check your graphics settings, there is probably a mismatch compared to beta. Something like dlss/frame gen being on compared to being off in beta could be giving you a sensation of input lag.
