As for the dodging, try and stay directly below her and do small dodges left and right as she comes closer. Its a bit like shivering star from lolk in that sense. You need to get pretty close for the later shots from what I remember.

Ive never completed a game, but I want to start 1cc'ing games starting with ofc EotSD. I can pretty comfortably get to stage 5 without losing a life or losing only 1 (i assume the default 2-3 is normal). My questions for going forward and playing are, is playing only Marisa fine? I like her more than Reimu and I love doing big damage. Reimu seems more new player friendly because you can focus more on positioning without worrying about damage output. Second, bombs? I tend to hold onto them especially during a boss fight because for some reason im under the impression if I use a bomb during a boss itll fuck up my score. I know score doesnt matter for a first time clear, but my brain is kinda stuck on it.

Knowing which patterns you need to just bomb through is an important step towards achieving your first 1cc. Refining your scoring technique is a job for future 1ccs.
