I'm reading what was said. I believe that 'real people' do indeed have a problem with Sena Bryer and the decision making apparatus that put this sheman into that protagonists position to begin with. Naoki Yoshida claims he approves of all the material personally so if anyone has a problem with it, he is the one to blame. The VIIR trilogy is the perfect encapsulation of the spirit of Final Fantasy. New gaming experiences with each installment while keeping at least one foot in the territory of familiarity.
I think it’s very telling that when Final Fantasy was at its peak, 4-10, the gameplay really didn’t change *that* much from entry to entry. It was only when it started going schizo with its gameplay that the series really started going downhill.

Knowing how great things like Tiny Bronco, Chocobo Racing, the motorcycle game, and other such systems were, it should be simple enough work to design fun airship travel. Then, hopefully in....5 years....we'll see another game made by this team that puts everything that's been learned to good use. A 40 hour RPG with a bit of linear path to start, bit of open world toy box in the middle, bit of air travel at the end. Dramatic story, memorable characters, you get the idea

The story in Tactics, however, is perfectly fine. The weird thing about /ffg/'s religious cultism is that you guys think that you need to love and worship every single thing that [dev you like] has made, when that's not the case at all.
