Gene-havers will tell you that combos don't matter, but the only way to make opponents respect your plus frames is to hit them for half of their health if they mash on them. They're just going to keep doing it and eventually win if you only do triple attack special off the counterhits.

After anywhere from a few days to one month depending on your genetics, you should be able to convert any button into a full or partial combo depending on your character10.
