I ended up grabbing the Safety Harness item for Kidian which made Yomi aim her ult to the frontline instead of the back for me. The initial shield was a nice bonus too in letting her survive the first initial burst. But yeah, super bricked and annoying if you're just trying to auto. Maybe just enhancing the HP piece of gear is enough to get your frontline ahead of your backline's hp stat.
