My current guess is that Kris is simply the only one who can contain the soul and harness its power for the sake of the forces that control them (maybe to purify Dess). It all comes to a head when Kris and Susie are knocked out, and Ralsei is the only thing separating them from a horde of Darkners possesed by the Knight's influence, so they are not necessarily evil by themselves and could be freed under better circumstances. Ralsei has to basically cast a powerful fire spell over their heads, harming some of them, to drive them away, very much shaken by this fact. As Kris comforts him, he asks what would he become if he actually had to kill, and we have the option to either tell him "You'd find a way not to" or "They had it coming". Which one of the choices is more harmful is up in the air, but in a worse scenario Ralsei would reveal some time later that he buffed his Pacify spell to send enemies into a permanent blissful coma, with the positive being that they don't actually have to be tired for it to work. This way he sort of remains a pacifist, although in a very disturbing way, and it's clear that his sanity is slipping regardless.Some sweet dreams later, we may choose to oppose Ralsei before it's too late, and he, feeling he still should save them, decides to apply the same treatment to Kris and Susie as well. He explains that the Prophecy spells doom for them either way an the odds are too slim, but at least nothing bad can happen in a dream. He offers to craft the most beautiful ream possible for Kris and gives the soul a dialog box with a whole colud of possible options, but as we try to choose, Kris makes a conscious effort not to think of anything in his paralyzed state, and all the options disappear as we approach them. Ralsei is heartbroken and sends Kris into a limbo of pure bliss, deleting all of his memories and senses one by one.

I have trouble following tutorials too, but the one thing I would recommend for drawing is to start visualizing/sketching out shapes and lines for better form, proportions, gestures, flow, that sort of thing. Even if you're straight up tracing, the drawing looks way better with those elements to guide you.There will be times when you feel like shit because your drawing fucking sucks ass, when that happens you need to look at how that thing or elements of that thing look like in real life or drawn by someone else and try to recognize what you might be doing wrong. Most people do not have photographic memory and you'll probably have trouble simplifying it or looking at it from another perspective, there's no shame in looking at how someone else has done it when the tools are right there. Even tracing is fine if you're doing it to learn. Eventually, it won't look as shit.
