I'm sorry to say that Sarevok is extremely hard.
But yeah, things get generally easier in BG2, and the developers learn not to make maps with tight corridors that fuck with the pathfinding. Get through this and you're home free.

Critical role? Is it a Critical failure or success?
>>
TB is artificially easy.
The only reason you can kill a chaos marine or a C'Tan shard or a Helbrute without taking a scratch is because he has to stand there with his thumb up his ass waiting his turn while Kibellah hops around and slices him up, then Yrliet takes five shots in a row at him because of the "extra attack on crit" ability from her Wanderer's Portent rifle, then Argenta magdumps into his ass, then Jae shouts "do it again, sweet sister!" and Argenta magdumps again and now he's dead
Can't do that in RTwP

Everything causes cancer. I’d rather have tattoos and sex and die at 85 than be you and live to 96. Tatted and pierced girls are fun to hangout with and fuck. You guys need to stop being such uptight little pussies. Women are doing you a favor by getting pierced and tatted. They are declaring that they are great for sex but awful for marriage.

Pretty sure he lets them go, you tell him it's out of the question for xenos to rule over humans but you'll allow him to live in a reservation if he behaves.
Then later at the governor's estate, people are saying "maybe those xenos aren't so bad, they haven't tried to kill us yet" so they're clearly not using mind control to appear human anymore.

I thought for some reason you didn't have TotSC, but if you do then for sure you should check out some of that (not all of it, for instance I think werewolf island sucks balls). Basically the only essential one is Durlag's, which is a lot of fun.

>>543356489
Troika only had a few games but they have a high ratio of the few they made being really good.

Obsidian made a few of the best crpg ever made, but they're all from like 2 decades ago and they've lost the magic.

Same with bioware. Several of the best crpg ever made were made by bioware......two decades ago, and everything recent is bad.

So I'm not sure whether to hold it against the companies where the studios fell apart over time, and lost all their talent but kept making bad games with the new bad writers. Are obsidian and bioware not historically good companies that made tons of good games just because bad writers eventually took over and made some bad ones? That feels unfair.

Larian is pretty consistent. Divinity os1, os2, and bg3 are all great. Dragon Commander had gameplay flaws but the whole thing about alliances and factions was fun. Their older diablo-likes were fun for a bit but I didn't finish any of them since they did bore me eventually I'm sorry to say, I made it about halfway with all of them, just to see what they're like.

Owlcat is newer and only has 3 games, so I would be hesitant to list them above companies that have more games and more classics, but on the other hand they only have 3 games and all 3 are good. So their ratio of games to good games is perfect.

So it's a difficult question. I will say Larian. The reason for that is that you don't need every single game in your library to be perfect. Their older games had various flaws, but you can tell they were having fun making them and they enjoy making games, so there's a passion even in their bad ones. Meanwhile, for example, Bioware's bad games are soulless leftist propganda with zero passion or talent. So a studio's bad games still being soulful I think is important to them being a good studio, and all of the dumb dragon or divinity larian games still had soul. Then they did make some highly rated popular blockbusters too, to prove they can do good and soul at the same time.

The overseer heroic is terrible. A three time on AP reduction for overseer abilities and your dog deals 7% wounds on hit. Meanwhile Argenta can deal like 10k damage in one burst. The only time this is good is against the Void Dragon at the end of the game.

Mechanically speaking I don't think overseer is very good. A psyker being able to transmit all of their buffs to the entire team sounds good on paper, but then you realize that Cassia and Argenta and Idira don't want Iron Arm. Officer giving all their stuff to everyone under the skull sounds good, but then you realize you're not a Master Tactician so you don't have some of the good ones. You group your entire party together tightly under the skull, so you sacrifice some positioning. You may take a Master Tactician to always go first and use them to give a Bring it Down turn to the officer/psyker so they can buff the whole party before an enemy takes advantage of the fact that you're grouped together, but then you realize you are pidgeonholing two party members into this gimmick so that you can.....give Iron Arm to people who aren't going to use it. Yeah, stuff like Warp Speed is good on everyone, but you see the point.

I ended up feeling a lot stronger as a party when I just used all the old reliable good advanced archetypes. Officer into Master Tactician instead of Officer into Overseer especially.

That said, it's a fun class. You take it for the flavor and the fun of controlling a pet. And they added out of combat reactivity to the pet classes, with several instances where you get to skip or solve something with your pet, which is always neat. My current co-op playthrough is as an officer overseer with the skull despite everything I just said because it's just neat. My friends are a psyker-bladedancer and a fortress world operative sniper.
>>
>>543361664
I mainly use raven so Idira can do AoE damage. It's alright for that
However I got an eagle for Jae and it does a ton of damage. It just chews up fags.

>>
>>543361664
>officer overseer with the skull
I used this for my latest playthrough as well. One interesting thing I noticed is that if you give Bring it Down to someone withing the skull's area, a random ally withing that area also gets a free turn. Don't know if that requires taking a specific talent though

Overseer is depressing because it requires some of the smartest moves to minmax but your reward is a dog that does 100 damage a bite. Meanwhile you can ignite yourself and murder everything if you picked psyker.

>The developer is also pushing the boundaries of romance. Shestov acknowledges that a “main fault” of Rogue Trader was the unromanceable Mechanicus companion, Pasqal. Rejoice, robot lovers, because that’s changing this time around. “We are fighting hard to make this particular companion, the Mechanicus one, romanceable,” he says. “And it would be the craziest romance I've ever encountered in a role-playing game.”
What do they mean by craziest romance? Will the Admech turn your character into a robot as the romance progresses kek

Haven't played DAO in a long while. I am determined to get tastefully lewd (lol) armor and can't seem to find anything quite right. I dig this medium armor and have light armor inheriting the medium armor appearance, but everything in heavy and above either doesn't reveal enough or is retarded. Based on what I did in demo, it was mostly stuff like
>Choose what stuff to fix and rebuild aboard ship, choose what systems get power or officers to improve said room, such as phaser banks, torpedoes, shields, science room, engineering, etc
>During away team missions, choose the away team and when you hit an encounter, pick one of three choices to commit your away team members to
>Space combat is pretty simple, choose what to aim at and then your ship keeps on shooting phasers at it automatically until you pause or give a new order on what to shoot at
>During space combat you can also use bridge officer abilities, which do stuff like make you dodge enemy shits, increase damage output (not sure on this one, the three abilities I used were from Chakotay, Tom Paris and the half-klingon lady, Paris ability made me dodge enemy attacks while the other two did something, I guess they boosted my damage output, although I couldn't tell)

My thoughts exactly, it seems the setting of this game is loosely based around our real world, with a few key differencies like
magic is real, and in this universe the west has advanced steampunk technology
its basically
>Emperor is a western lover like Kojima but we are the weebs™ that will fight for traditions

so far, gameplay and story feels a little less rigid than the usual Owlcat formula (its published by Owlcat but not developed by them), I kinda like it

it's a demo, I've been playing like for 1 hour
but
characters seem to have at least a cople of paths, so for example there's the katana guy who can become a ronin, using blades and guns, or a samurai, only following honor and shit
these decisions are made through dialogue choices and interactions, so I guess there's quite the branching going on here
the other character is an archer/stealth guy who can become full assassin
nothing new, but it seems here like your choices will actively influences what kind of gameplay you will experience

Wrath of the Righteous or Kingmaker for my first Pathfinder game?
>>
>>543385601
No
>>
>>543386163
Kingmaker IMHO has better characters and a more likeable story,
gameplay and QoL wise they're virtually the same game
it's not like Owlkeks learned from their mistakes or anything
>>
>>543386163
Kingmaker
>>
>>543386163
If you want to play both, then play KM first since WOTR is a vast improvement in so many things that it's hard to come back. That said, there are some aspects that KM is better.
>>543386337
>gameplay and QoL wise they're virtually the same game
It really isn't. Lugging around rations alone is annoying and something they tried to stamp out without deleting that they resorted to just handing it to you on the first long dungeon you can go into.
>>
>>543386163
WOTR is the better game overall. Kingmaker can be painful at times.

I also played WOTR first over Kingmaker
>>
>>543386163
Wotr.

An improvement but its her haircut that does her in. She only looks good in this particular portrait but never in any fanart and definitely not in her ingame model.

Interplay. It pushed out the original Fallouts but more importantly, from Interplay came all the golden age greats: Bioware, Black Isle/Obsidian, and Troika which each have produced very highly regarded and beloved crpgs.

Every modern crpg studio stands in the ruins of Interplay, wishing they could be shoulder to shoulder with what came before, all falling short.

If you play on easy difficulty your first time, WotR, if you play on core or greater, Kingmaker.

Kingmaker is actually the better one overall, WotR has a lot of unnecessary friction throughout and especially Act 2 onwards, in the form of over-long dungeons and bloated enemies. WotR also has a far more irritating kingdom management system with the Crusade mode though that doesn't mean Kingmaker's is good.

The one advantage WotR has over Kingmaker, however, is there are autobuff mods since both games suffer from boring buff>rest>buff cycles.
>>
>>543390286
>>543390519
So we had Commisar, Malice and Clementia. Who else is left
Muaran, Evayne and Chaplain are the only ones that come to mind. Base game NPCs with multiple appearances
>>
>>543391442
I don't think Evayne deserves one
>>
>>543343108
She's still best girl.
>>
>>543391675
He is the only one of those that shows up to help you if Caligos is dead without a portrait and you do meet him in early game quest too
Chaplain is the only vendor without portrait if Doloroso dies and he appears in one quest too

There is a chance that future DLCs expand other dynasty quest lines as well so giving Evayne a portrait now could be for that reason
>>
>>543389892
>never in any fanart and definitely not in her ingame mode
I think that's cause they give her a skin fade of all things. If she just had normal hair all around she'd be fine.
>>
>not liking the asphyxia noir goth pinup haircut
baka /crppg/, another day another doghsite opinion
>>
I just played both and say just play wotr. It’s newer and straight up a better game. If you enjoy the game enough you can go back to kingmaker. If you don’t know if you’ll love the games you may as well play the better one (wotr)
The guys here giving you advice are nerds who love the series. Those people will always suggest the first game because they assume everyone will love it as much as they do.
>>
You don't need to buff very much on Normal and lower, even Core. If you do, it's a sign you need to just accept turning the difficulty down for yourself.
>>
Solasta is on offer on Steam. Thinking about picking up the complete edition.

because most people who play crpgs don't care excessively about what their dollies look like

it's roughly oblivion potato-tier, and that's fine. I see no major jump in game quality from their models vs bg3's for instance.
>>
>>543394489
You mean bots. Marketing is mostly astroturfing at this point. All the normies will see a vampire game with modern graphics and the social media environment will make them feel like its a social "in" thing to play it immediately or they'll miss out. Very few of them will have ever played the masterpiece original and even less of them will have played the oWoD ttrpg.

It is a curiosity. I've never looked at a review for a game that wasn't a screencap posted on here to mock them.

Do normies really browse these gaming news websites for critic reviews? Who even does?

It's for the devs to post glowing reviews to attach to their games. Reminds me of how much 9/10s Deadfire had gotten on release and they made like a poster showing it.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, some anime that poked fun on a lot of Japanese stuff. I think it randomly mentioned that many Japanese people do get depressed when they realise Paris isn't the way they imagined and chided those who only got interested in Christianity because of Evangelion.

Rogue Trader's system is inherently broken because it wasn't adapted from the tabletop, its Owlcat's custom creation and they can't properly balance or design.
