Vas is kind of cool (scythe is my favorite melee weapon even though it's extremely impractical) and I did considering playing him in both vanilla and in Rising, but he's too unconventional and clunky, and his armor just doesn't have the same 'oomph' as Z Broly. I think the armored move triggering a zoom-in as it hits compliments the additional hitstop caused by the armor absorption extremely well. It's the one-two punch of: "yeah I'm so tough that I can just shrug off your attack, now let's see how well you deal with mine". Like Z broly has armor in his 5M but that isn't nearly as satisfying to land as 5H or any of his specials because there's no special zoom-in effect. Z Broly is also neat because he has armor but isn't some gimmick fraud character but rather straight-forward and normal, he just has armor in his moves. I like playing ordinary characters who don't stray too far from the norm. I hate playing characters with extreme weaknesses, which most of the time rules out any armor character since they always have some shit like terribly slow lights or slow movement speed that gets you zoned etc.
