Just read Hell Screen today. The main character was named Yoshihide and not Ryoshu. Where does the name Ryoshu come from?It was also a deeply upsetting story. It is not surprising or unpredictable by Akutagawa (and the translator) do a very good job of instilling dread and foreboding in the narrative. The narrator is also well characterized despite being more or less a non-entity minus their one significant act when they encounter the daughter.
