During chapter 2 era, this was the piece of catti art I disliked the most. I'm a bit upset it's canon nowBased on Catti's dialouge from chapter 2 I thought she talked about protection spells and what not ironically, reminiscing with Kris about the weird occult stuff they got up to when they were kids. It felt like she was trying to rekindle a flame between her and Kris after not interacting for so long since Kris became asocial after Dess's disappearance. Her use of poetry during chapter 2 made her feel a lot more mature than the majority of the deltarune cast which fit with her being the only classmate with a real jobBut in chapter 4, that all went out the window. Apparently she still believes in magic and now acts like one of those autistic naruto kids who try to use the hand signs in real life. What was the point of deliberately explaining that Kris and Catti did rituals together when they were kids? Why is she STILL doing demonic rituals at her age? (15-18)

The focal point of the church was the prophecy and so Chapter 4's dark world was molded by it the same way Card Kingdom / Cyber World / TV World were by their rulers, in fact you could view the prophecy as the ruler of the church since it is what the lightners use it for the same way Tenna was important because he was the center of attention in the living room. The chapter's entire dark world segment is about fighting against / coming to understand the extent of the prophecy. Ultimately I'm just not too torn up by there not being a society of darkners and another chess piece guy named Bishop, I like the organikks / cuptains / mizzles a lot and while it could be more centralized in structure I just don't think it matters all that much, especially since Chapter 5 will apparently be a return to form for the dark world ruler thing (Asgore).Basically I don't think adhering to established structure is what gives this game its soul, it's like calling MANTLE soulless because it doesn't end in you fighting Ramb

He's a guy deeply familiar with the "chapter boss" / dark world's ruler (which I choose to interpret as the Prophecy because the more I think about it the more sense it makes) who tries to get the heroes to look at it from a different perspective and ends up inciting Susie's desire to rewrite it; he's a guide. Not a main boss, but tied to the idea of it. I don't know, I guess your take would have the Chapter be more of a deliberate struggle against the Knight instead of what we got with Chapter 4 where the Knight is present but continues to elude the heroes. It also sounds kind of superficial, yes it would be a novel spin on the ideas presented by dark world rulers thus far but we're probably going to get something similar in Chapter 5 because the boss is Kris' dad and in general from a storytelling perspective I don't think the Chapter having another guy to riff off of would achieve anything that wasn't done through Gerson since again it spends so much time having the heroes and Gerson talk amongst themselves
