A lottery event gives an order of magnitude more resources than any other content in the game. You will be flooded with skill gems, materials of all kinds, exp embers, mana prisms, and QP. I won't get into lottery mechanics but if you hang around these threads you'll know when the lottery is about to start cause people will start posting about it. Grailing servants does make them stronger, don't get me wrong. It can absolutely make a lower rarity servant able to do higher level content. But a 1* servant grailed to level 90 will never be as strong stat-wise as an SSR at level 90, the base stats and stat growth are better for higher rarity servants. I tell you this so you don't get the wrong idea about grailing. Grailing is something you do later on, when you have more spare materials, in order to make your favorite servants stronger and more useful. Grails are more powerful on lower rarity servants because the game is balanced around lower rarity servants, not SSRs. Any SSR without grailing is going to be "overtuned" as far as the game's mainline content is concerned, so grailing an SSR doesn't provide a lot of tangible benefit in terms of gameplay. Yes, they will technically be stronger, and you might even notice it a bit, but it is not in any way "necessary" to grail a servant. TL;DR grail for love, not gameplay. Grail a servant you want to use more.
