They rarely give them huge arcs full of character development but instead just have characters shill them or them being portrayed as perfect, tough, or dignified even when showing weakness can be a stepping stone to character development. I would've liked Elysia more if we saw her younger and inexperienced years leading into where she is now. And experienced characters can easily have weaknesses and character development too. Hua's got tons of years of experience, arguably more than Kevin because though she joined later than Kevin, Kevin's been in the Sea of Quanta for 500 years while Hua's active during that time. And she gets character development over all her flaws and insecurities over past failures.

the special test is hard, especially the double ai chan and their cabbage attacknot sure if this affects anyone else but i can't tell what attacks they're generally going to do which makes it hard to dodge (plus low base move speed)

Back during the ER arc, it was somewhat frustrating that all the new battlesuits that dropped were FCs and it still felt as if they had too little time to make me care for them. They're shopkeepers. This is all I see in them. I stopped playing right during the ER arc and still catch up on the story. You might say that at least Elysia surely does something with all this screen time she gets, but she's like a monolith, standing there like a cardboard, never changing. When I start with part 2, I want to see the doggo, Lamp or the doggo's girlfriend grow and evolve just like Kianners, Mei or Bronya. I want more of P2 and want to give them a chance.
