On top of this, all bosses had their health multiplied per player so anytime you could play solo you skipped matchmaking unless you wanted to leech. After season 2 they started releasing modes you could multiplayer in, unfortunately by then every mode had devolved into '200 guys shoulder to shoulder in a room' or 'one guy with an unironic billion hp', both of which get solo'd by their respective meta characters without taking an action before the other three players on the team even do anything so the multiplayer doesn't amount to anything. It's so bad that a couple weeks ago they literally unironically made a skip button for the big colossi, you don't have to fight them to open boxes you just walk to a console in the hub and push a button, because power creep is so bad already that colossi last less than a second o it may as well be a button press. Atleast in DNA, there might be more than 2 characters on a team by dint of the fact that everyone plays three characters at once.
