We get less dungeon per expansion, and half of those dungeons are open world questing areas/cities/hub repurposed. In dragonflight and tww we even got a whole zone as a dungeon, not even an enclosed space in the area, but just the zone with different mobs placed here and there. Im talking about nokhud offensive and the dawnbreaker. Not only they dont feel like dungeons (but again, this is my personal opinion of what a dungeon should be, as i value the world and the exploration part of rpg games a lot), they also feel lazy in design. Algethar academy and brackenhide hollow at least are contained and curated spaces that seems to be designed as dungeons but you can also access them from the open world.The first added dungeons in the war within (floodgate) was also a repurposed outdoor areas with a few added rooms, while half of the raid (liberation of undermine) was just the zone. Undermine was a beautiful zone, but at the same time it was a delve (the nemesis one), a pvp arena and a raid.Karesh also had a lot of reused assets. The only insteresting part, tazavesh, is straight from shadowlands and is both a hub and a dungeon at the same time.Delves at least felt like real dungeons from old school mmos, even if smaller, and each was mostly unique.Looking at midnight, not only many dungeons are already reused outdoor areas, but now also delves feel like "fake places". Collegiate calamity starts as a cool looking mage library and then you find yourselves in outdoor silvermoon. Parhelion plaza also seems to take place in silvermoon streets. Atalaman starts in a cool crypt like environment, but soon you find yourself in the open world zone. The darkways is just the arcway dungeon from legion used as a delve, just like azure vault was reused in karesh. And we still dont know about the other delves.I also have a feeling that 1/2 of the midnight raids, which is just 1 raid split into 3 parts, will take place in their respective open world zones.

I just finished the Suramar campaign in Lemix. It was an incredible adventure, exciting from start to finish. We went through the whole spectrum of emotions, and all the characters we met had unique and endearing personalities.And there are still the Draenei and Illidan arcs to explore. You can't find this experience anywhere else in WoW. Legion is truly peak WoW.

Infinite knowledge doesn't quite cut it as a replacement because while playing my main makes my alts scale faster, playing my alts does nothing for my mains power whereas feeding stats into the cloak improved my main as well. Also, looting more than just stamina off of mobs was a ton of fun and I miss that. There's also the issue of the artifacts. Mage Tower, sure. But not including the PvP artifacts when it's simply tied to honor level and nothing prestigious is silly. The hidden artifacts not being in either is a huge miss. Same with needing to play every single class campaign to unlock the base and upgraded appearances (with the base tints not being account bound, so enjoy recovering lights heart on every single class, lmao). The only one that works well is Balance of Power, do the quest once, get it and any tints you unlocked across all characters (and this one isn't even a remix thing, that is just how it's worked since warbands got added to the game). For being the main appeal of Legion, it's insane how underserved they are in Lemix That said, it's genuinely fun, heroic world tier making the world threatening is very welcome, despite initial concerns the power scaling can absolutely get silly broken just like MOP remix, the dreadlord explosion is top fun, and I like the gameplay loop of "use your main to collect insane amounts of player power/infinite knowledge/exp boosts so that you can level the rest of the classes through just their class campaigns alone", rewards are also pretty nice.
