I don’t enjoy the limited combos of wilds though. I really enjoyed that in GU and sunbreak I could add new moves or even completely change the moveset (surge slash greatsword). I liked the utility, especially in GU. Gunlance’s AA gun ability was so fucking good at knocking shit out of the air. Stuff like that. It also let you differentiate yourself from other people using your weapon. I want that customization back so badly

I really don't miss hunting Silver Rathalos on the tower, cutting off his tail and carving it to see if I got a ruby and, if not, ending and trying again.At least from what I remember. I haven't played FU much since I put like 1k hours in it back in the day, or Tri or the 3/4Us. I think I was holding out a farcical hope that Capcom might eventually port their old MonHun games because they constantly do that for their other games, but no.

It seems like lag affects Steve the most. I have seen him spaz the fuck out so regularly even when the other monsters on the hunt are not. It doesn't happen every hunt but him animation canceling, delaying, teleporting et all is significantly more pronounced more than any other monster I've seen this game.

I started with 4U and the first time I got a KO on the monster by bonking it as it charged towards me is when I thought "the Hammer is fucking awesome". If you're playing the series for the first time, it might take a little bit for the combat in general to really click.
