I liked LoR because that game was varied enough you actually could find success with off meta stuff with enough game knowledge but it definetly wasn’t easy. I was masters every season with custom shitdecks but I only ever made it to high-high elo when the off meta pile I was running had some lucky winning matchups.

Riftbound is different because it’s 4 player, there shouldn’t be too much pressure to play whatever you want. So I’m not too worried about the balance of it.
Garen is kind of egregious though, one of his cards is straight up exactly inferior to a Darius card, in every single way. There’s basically no reason to every run him which is sad.

There's also charged heavy attacks, those put them into a pseudo stun where they aren't allowed to use parry or retreating guard for a moment, and you can charge those as an assist and it keeps the stun properties
