Any idea why this quest malfunctioned like it did?
I accepted the mystery cargo two days ago, and got the notification that the unnatural corpse had unlocked death refusal, but no corpse was to be found. I only had the event once before so I wasn't sure if it was normal for it to fire on a delay.

I had recently accepted 3 refugees who shockingly just turned out to be traitors. They managed to knock over a genie who I managed to get through borderline abuse (I had Thrumbo, Royal Tax Collector and The Deserter fire at very opportune times).
When the last traitor died I got roughly 1600 messages informing me that the corpse had vanished, confirming my hope that the corpse had picked someone disposable, but leaving me with many questions.

Managed to win thanks to the natural chokepoint which makes full use of the Kiiro stupidly long range assault rifle while my three invisible melee Kiiros were wreacking havoc from behind the mech lines.
One of them had a legendary shield belt and another a masterpiece shield belt so they could even tank the turrets explosions.

My Kiiro village is safe now. Most of them got the prototype precision rifle and now they outrange almost anything. Nobody will die from old age because they are chronophaguing a lot of prisoners.
Food is not an issue because they are friends with the nearby Kiiros and can ask for trade caravans all the time.
The 3 elite melee Kiiros rush in with their masterwork/legendary shield belts to drag out the few things that can outrange the gunners while also destroying any centipedes left behind since they can solo them, although is safer if they attack together.
I am now waiting to get the strong melee combat and great melee to inject them into my melee fighters.
I also have some bear, sloths and thrumbo meatshields, they not only soak some bullets, they can be sent to attack and bait the doomsday or rocket launcher.
The village doc lost her toe? She got a bionic limb.
My janitor hunter lost a kidney? She got a detoxifier kidney.
My ninja outfit tailor melee elite child lost an arm (crushed) and an eye (stabbed)? She got the archotech replacement. Her scarred brain (damage together with the eye losing) was fixed with a heal mech serum and the village still have one.
The body modder has gutworms? She got the bionic stomach.
A huge neanderthal rushing? Call for help for nearby Kiiros (once each 20 days, so if I get those in quick succession, then it will be a serious setback).
Now I am making a lot of indoor farming with a lot of sunlamps to protect against the toxic fallout since I have yet to get one in the 250 days of this colony life.

All genes = gene complexity = more processor units required to have them all in same xenotype

Pretty busted because most pawns are hard specialists, and even soft specialists can take on a bunch of awful (skill) traits in return for a bunch of nice stuff. The only real limitation is the insufferable gene gacha.

Also of note are the drug dependency genes, which the games considers extremely negative genes but in practice are actually moderately good genes with a miniscule amount of risk.

I play minimal killboxes.
The only Revenant I had in my most recent colony decided to jump a pawn after a raid in the middle of one killbox while my whole colony was still drafted up right there. It made it maybe one step towards its target before it went down.

I forgot to imprison or process the spine fast enough, so it broke out. It made a beeline for the other entrance to my base and proceeded to target a pawn hauling corpses after another raid, surrounded by a bunch of pawns set to attack threats on sight. It died in seconds again.

Revenants have gotta be the dumbest enemies in the game and I think it's because Tynan tried to code them to be clever.

What does a "standard" combat equipment setup look like for you guys? I assume I should be using the best guns I can build currently, but what about armor? I've got flak helmets, are flak vests worth it too or do they slow too much? Are smoke/shield belts worth it? What about grenades?

Not kiiros can temporarily live in the colony, even if they are males, this is a hotspring resort after all.
Since the empire guests are soldiers incapable of anything, not even firefighting, their payment for staying here is to be a meatshield. Other guests usually pay their stay by cleaning the place or cutting stones.
I plan to make some individual rooms for the guests later, after I make floor for the main house.

whatever the fuck rimsort is doing with their downloader is fucking retarded, it takes forever to start downloading anything, while rimpy just instantly starts.
It also stupidly closes the workshop window when it starts to dowload, meaning it's much more annoying to download things.

Finally got back into Rimworld after like 3 years and I have a problem (perhaps two).
I haven't installed any new mod compared to the list I had 3 years ago and which was working fine, only removed those which weren't updated for 1.6 and started a new game but now, there's two issues, raiders can't be killed no matter how hard they get hurt (I had a guy who was decapitated and missing all limbs still trying to attack) their HP stay at 5% no matter what (saving with the guy missing all limbs and loading the save "correctly" spawn him dead) and another thing, sometimes, these raiders can get a bleeding stab wound that somehow gets repeatedly inflicted to him at light speed completely lagging the game out.

Is there any couple of mods known to cause these kinds of issues? I'd rather ask here first if it's a widely known issue before starting to disable my mods one by one to check who's the culprit. I was expecting Death Rattle to be that culprit but disabling it did nothing so I have to dig deeper.

Infection paths:
1) Eating a meal cooked by an infected pawn. Baby food and kibbles are an exception as far as I remember.

3) Colonist joining.
4) Infected pawn doctoring.
The shitty thing is that the pawn is not infected in the moment of the infection, when the game decides to give you a metalhorror, it will randomly choose any pawn who can be infected.

This sort of conceptual map actually helps a fair bit designing bases, if you want to avoid the "13x13 boxes" pattern. Areas linked need to stay close, for some reason (people walking through often, the flow of materials, or even similar scopes).

Of course, they depend a fair bit on your playstyle and you won't be able to simply plop them into the game without some tweaks for the local terrain.

Then you can actually have in vanilla shit like a trading spot, or neutrals respecting doors.

Not quite. Culture and development don't always walk together.
I'll give you an example: the culture of the elites in Haiti is pretty much French. Should we assume Haitians and French have the same technological development?
On the other hand, if someone has tech comparable with France, should we assume they speak French (instead of German, or Finnish, or whatever)?

And the same deal applies to those big cultures in RimWorld. Except star travelling enables even more disparity.

Specialize your pawns in only a few jobs, don't turn their job priority on for everything
I usually only give pawns at most two big jobs, something like a planter and chef will have only those two jobs on and nothing else, maybe research at 4 if they really don't have anything to do

these large mechs from Cinder have a super strong blast and normally I can just kite their very long charge shot, make them waste their time by disappearing behind walls with the target and take them out with other pawns, but it was also a breacher raid so regular cinders just c4'd all over my walls my walls and I was not able to kite because of that and it was also a winston wave boss raid where enemies had the bulletproof modifier
if anything I'm surprised I survived without needing to call up the cryptosleep crew
