Yes but that's easier said than done, you can condense every class to "just do x, y and maybe z" after all. There's a few other things to keep in mind, like needing to be behind the boss at all times or your filler doesn't even activate, using innervate on cooldown to the healers, moving to safe spots to battle rez and actually filling in ferocious bites whenever you can.
So on top of what the other guy said you have lots of side stuff to keep in mind too

Like even in Legion, after using the system for years AND at the ass end of it with a bajillion patches to that specific expac there's a godawful amount of talents that just shout "never ever fucking pick this".
A good deal of options for brackets are like this

Then it's the same for leggos and trinkets and when you ever look at a leaderboard you see 95% to 100% pickrates for everything for the top 500 even if you look at just heroics and normals

they're in a weird spot as to whether they're worth going to, they've got the pvp vendor, portal to tanaan, and profession trainers but you can also get the trainers in your garrison and shrine has portals to every other city instead of just the portal to stormwind/orgrimmar so it's a better travel hub. I couldn't believe how shitty the nu-wow talents are, just as if not more unbalanced than the old talents. and the thing that really made me want to vomit, there's for some retarded reason a completely separate talent tree for pvp abilities that you can only use for pvp for some totally arbitrary reason.

It's like they intentionally made the jankiest, least intuitive and least interesting system possible. The entire talent system boils down to one or two tiers where you pick a usable ability. at that point I would prefer if you just gave me the fucking abilities outright instead.

I want to give it an 11/10 purely because it filters dads, it exposed many guilds that had naxx on farm for years as just being dad-daycares that rely on a few pumpers to carry and spoonfeed them.

The real rating however is 8.5/10.
The theme, fights, overall length and most of the loot (looks-wise and in terms of stats are great) The token distribution is also much better than in naxx for example.
But the system with the ley crystals/energies is just a complete pain to deal with, its worse than plate scraps prior to the buff of the plate scrap droprate, another thing regarding loot distribution is how most of the good loot is locked to outland.
Tier pieces dont drop until the 5th boss and the neck token is extremely rare, the drop rate was increased by a lot but we went 3 weeks in a row without a single one dropping for example.
Some of the mechanics are not fun to deal with, I have to give them credit tho, because the turtle devs seem to understand exactly what can be punishing, so they do seem to play their own game.
Shit like 4th wall breaking debuffs, some where you have to dispel them and some where if you do, you cause a wipe.
Mechanics where if someone takes a single step you, wipe.
Yes, there is no excuse for failing these mechanics but its just not fun to deal with in any way.
A good mechanic are the flamestrikes on rupturan adds in phase 2, if all your melees understand that they need to fan out shortly before they go off and go back in after, they can actually be allowed to dps the adds increasing the kill speed by a lot.
If this raid is the benchmark for what we are going to get in the future then we are going to be in good hands.
Dragonmaw retreat, stormwrought ruins aswell as the MC update show that they continue to cook.

Wow's gameplay especially in pve is very simple, there's only so much you can do with the available mechanics to make unique playstyles. It's great if monk and demon hunter were fun when they first released but it's a problem if they got to that state while other classes in their role were dogshit. And it's particularly bad if monk and demon hunter were fun initially because they took shit that people wanted and could have been used for rogues. Apply this concept to every class and spec in the game. 9 classes is simply too many to begin with, adding even more on top was insanity.

I remember mages and warlocks having 3 specs where you spam one or two spells endlessly where the only real difference between them was the color of the spell effects. So many of the original classes simply did not have enough meat on the bone to make an interesting unique playstyle for 3 specs each. on a mechanical level there are tons of spells that were given to player classes that had nothing to do with its role in wc3, e.g. death coil was a death knight spell associated with the scourge in wc3 and they made it a warlock spell in wow. Night elf priestesses were a totally different class than vanilla wow priests, same is true for almost every race's priest equivalent actually.

Are we pretending like vanilla-cata talents had any real choice? There was always a far superior build for lvling/dungeons/raiding. Maybe the only exception was dks in wrath and that's because all of their talent trees were so incredibly broken you could go whatever and it did not matter. Mop talents and the ones that came after were made with the idea that you would constantly be switching around them, which you do based on bosses or 5 mans or whatever content you're doing. Also if you consider mop+ balance to be bad then vanilla is unplayable. There's no spec that can't get a raid slot in mop-legion. The same can't be said about vanilla-bc. The only bad thing about the mop talents was the the first three rows for most classes were kind of bad in leveling and almost all were based around picking your defensive/movement ability.

After their first custom raid, green dragons in green field, we didn't expect much from their 40 man raid and we were confident as the officers that the progression wouldn't take long, a few weeks at best. This was further supported by the initial release of Karazhan 10 and how long Moroes was kept in a buggy state. Every other K10 raid you'd have to file a GM ticket because they couldn't make ONE unique mechanic in the raid work. The first half of the fight would be on the opera seats, then you'd jump down and finish him off in the stage. He would always bug out.
For those reasons, we went in to Kara40 with 0 expectations and we were properly humbled by the first boss, wiping for 4 hours straight. Our progression took 2.5 months in total, but I love all parts of the raid.
Fantastic visual and audio design, unique boss mechanics that are beyond complex by vanilla standards. It's really impressive how every trash pack has a weaker version of the boss abilities they lead you to, you can figure out most mechanics intuitively except for Rupturan. It's genuinely a well designed, cool looking raid that picks up from Naxx both difficulty and design wise.
To this day I haven't broken Meph shackles once, that having been said, that's my only complaint about the raid. In no other vanilla raid one person failing a mechanic leads to an instant wipe. The closest example I can think of is Thaddius, but that will kill you and maybe 2-3 other people. Usually, as long as your tank does the mechanics nothing goes wrong. There's nothing in the earlier raids that prepare the dad gamers to the mentality that "one person fails = instant raid wipe" theme of this raid. Naturally a lot of bad players who didn't know anything about positioning or were hard carried couldn't do much. This isn't their fault though, vanilla is such an easy game that you can ignore 75% of your toolkit and still do fine.

I have conqueror of desolation, turtle is tranny shit. I call it vanilla minus because most raids are missing key mechanics or have damage nerfed so it's trivial. The economic half of the game is gone to push the Gold buying racket. PvP queues don't work correctly and has flat number reduction. The classes are fucked for example warrior has 3 taunts due to mocking blow being identical to threat. Devs are constantly lying, service requests get sent into an endless loop of referrals to another part of the team, and they perpetuate hoaxes such as unreal engine.
