maybe I need to reread both comics because even the claim that IDW is "more like the games" than Archie feels like a stretch if we're comparing late Archie to IDW. We all know the games are inconsistent anyways so :"like the games" is a lot. Second of all, the last two years of Archie were just Sonic Unleashed but with Ianisms. The first two years of IDW are a zombie apocalypse with Ianisms. Like *what* games exactly? Sure IDW doesn't have any of the weird shipping stuff that easily makes preboot Archie "not Sonic" but neither does reboot Archie. Also... "Anthro only" world. Humans everywhere in the Archie and nowhere in IDW. Apparently this is to be consistent with Forces? But Forces is the first and last game to do this. The next game has Sage (Fuck you she counts) and the game after that has Maria and a truckload of gun soldiers. You could argue that generic humans have been absent since Unleashed but the bottom line is that IDW is a story and the most popular Sonic stories literally all have humans in them.
