I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been ambushed in solos. If you're getting shot in the back of the head, it's a skill issue.Literally just play like you're always being chased. When you walk into a building, sit around the corner from the door and watch to see if anybody is following. If you have to kill a drone, look around before you loot. Set up a perimeter. Walk when you first approach a poi or building. Try not to cross open areas, and if you have to, sprint the entire way and use stims to keep up the pace. Bring smokes and lure grenades for a free extract.

I just can't fucking deal with the gameplay, it feels so trashy. Character movement is jank galore and you constantly get stuck on shit, fall inbetween objects, vault weirdly, slide only going half an inch even though you were sprinting and on a steep incline, then you have the shooting mechanics which are retarded as fuck with bullets need to be lead 10 whole feet in front of the enemy even if they are close to you and getting shot makes your screenshake like crazy and the stupid tracer color of the bullets makes it hard to see the person who is shooting at you, and you have the classic third person peekaboo which is annoying as fuck. Like I just hate everything about how my character moves and acts in this game. Feels retarded as shit. I don't need them to be slide cancelling drug addicts like Call of Duty, but Tarkov did not feel anywhere near this absolutely shit when controlling your character.

Honestly, I love this game. Wasn't following its development, didn't even know it existed until a day before release. It's just so polished and has SOVL seeping from every orifice. Music, visuals, performance, gameplay, almost everything is 9 or 10 out of 10. Inventory management out of raid is a chore and I'd like to see more and better cosmetic options but this is GOTY 2025 for me, I think, out of nowhere.

I feel like solos in this game sucks. If you get jumped from behind while looting, even a rattler 1 will kill you because you wont be able to quickly get around a corner and heal or put on shield, it takes too long and too much stamina as well. You just have to hope to god you can 180 kill them before you die. In trios this is circumvented by being able to revive and also distracting and suppressing the attacker. Solos should get 1 item that allows you to self revive tbqh.

I'm not a pvp player, but every arc shootout is exciting stressing over getting shot in the back. And awesome every time a player walks up and chooses to shoot the arc instead. Arc is one of the few pvpve games to take the whole package seriously instead of using AI as a bandage for the boring stretches between player fights. The pvp is also pretty mediocre on its own without the threat of bots shaping fights.

Only 1 arc is a threat (rocketeer) and even then its only a threat if you are in the open. The PvE is popular in this game because to the vast majority of people, the ARC are seen as a threat. PvP is not only a risk of getting killed by players, but also getting ARC attention. Once normalfags figure out that the arc are piss easy to deal with the PvE wont be natural and it will only be propped up by redditors going OMFG THIS GAME IS SO WHOLESOME.So what I am trying to say is that the ALL of the arc need to be buffed. That means it will cater to you, especially at first. If you are being matchmade exclusively with murderhobos, that's because you play like one too, and the algo is doing it's job. I doubt all of your pvp encounters were not initiated with you. The game knows you want pvp, and you're getting it; you're just not very good at it yet. I get loads of pvp, because that's what I like to engage in. Do I deal with 3rd party nogs? Of course, that's the name of the extraction shooter game. I call them brown as they knock me out and try again. If you want to play in better lobbies, first you need to change the way you play the game.

I set my proximity voice volume to max (200) and unless someone is really nearby it's kinda hard to hear anything. Wonder if it's their mics or the game or both. I got headphones but I prefer to play with speakers.
