I'm gonna be honest bros the vn quality of the arknights story without voice and with static low quality sprites turned me off completely. I have a hard time getting into story in the first place so something catchy like Trickcal's story is required for me to become invested, or at least some interesting cutscenes. Trickcal's story is definitely snappier and more entertaining, so even if the TL quality wasn't the best (currently being fixed), it was pretty easy to enjoy. Having the immutable ability to drop 500 anvils on the head of whoever's talking when they say something you don't like helps a lot, too.
