I think I figured out (kind of) how to Unity>Farm for bubbles at the start, pick the choices with the most bubbles, preferably in speed or wit slots>Always pop bubbles as soon as you get them in your preferred slot (speed or power, wit for energy)>This is so you don't miss out on the Unity cup gibs by jobbing races>Keep repeating the process, try balancing between bubble growth and desired training slot>NPC Umas who popped their bubble boost your training passively, so if many are stacked its good to train on themThis strategy managed me to beat Zenith so it should work for (you) too, just don't waste the bubbles and train the umas who are fresh.

Straight gate isn't the ideal of fairness, but I don't think there can really be one. Plus straight gate is much more convenient for organizers and exciting for fans.
