Drive rush is a low risk high reward spammable move that gives plus frames, eats your opponents inputs, is very hard to react to, and in many cases automatically wins neutral. The opponent is now forced to guess and if they guess wrong they are now in the corner getting thrown looped. Utterly baffling that this exists in a modern fighting game.

A lot of people focus on the usual issues but I get the feeling that there's at times too much frame-advantage on hit from normals. You shouldn't get a heavy button from hitting the tip of a jump-in, especially in a game where execution is so easy and big damage so easily available. It's one of those scenarios where they should look back at older games they made and had the right solution, which they completely forgot apparently.

I've also been struggling with what you're describing myself, but recently I gained a ton of confidence on my Viper game and I was able to get to Ultimate Master. Without looking at your game, I think your best tools to keep people from rushing you down is poking with her excellent cr.mk. Ground burn kick is also a great option if they're using low moves a lot, but don't abuse it or you'll get DI'd. That said, since she doesnt have an OD reversal, you'll have to learn to be comfortable on defense and making risky reads sometimes.

I've been watching some Xiao Hai Mai replays and he rarely uses EX fan. He also doesn't really do DR fan. Aren't these the things that people complain about a ton? So why would one of the best Mai players on the planet not do this much?
